Once a humble Al Bhed mechanic, Junko Lehmnecc's life was changed forever when the Fayth from Bevelle temple imbued him with the power and visage of Bahamut, the mighty King of Dragons. Junko went from a member of a race who was persecuted actively by the Church of Yevon, to someone who was regarded as god-like in the eyes of that same church. Understandably, he has a tendency to take advantage of his new prestige, but he never takes it too far. Although he now goes by the name Bahamut, Junko makes no secret of the fact that he used to be Al Bhed, and rather enjoys the expressions on high priests' faces when they hear it. But, as both an honorable Al Bhed and the noble king of dragons, Bahamut takes his new duty as defender of Spira seriously. He will answer just about any call for his help on his own world, and as many calls as he can even outside his world. And he will use his overwhelming power and his mass of charisma to great effect. He is a bit too prideful and arrogant sometimes, and has a tendency to tease others, but there is no more steadfast protector. Or more dependable friend.

Big Boy: Bahamut is large by most definitions. His body is large, he is a few feet taller than most other people, and he has clawed hands and feet larger than any typical glove or boot. This makes using equipment difficult for Bahamut. While he can usually figure out a way to handle a weapon if needed, any equipment must be specially made for his unique frame. In addition, his massive weight makes him a bit cumbersome. He won't win any agility contests, but he can move forward like a freight train.

God Complex: After being persecuted as an Al Bhed, Junko finds himself in the interesting position of being considered god-like in the world after Yu Yevon. And he is not ashamed to take advantage of that perception of godliness. He is prone to taking advantage of his followers from the church of Yu Yevon, and tends to both soak up praise from others and praise himself a little too highly. This inflated ego can cause problems in someone knows how to manipulate such personalities, and also makes Bahamut reluctant to accept help from others.

Noble Heart: Despite Junko's god complex, Bahamut was one of the most noble of the Aeons, and that personality trait has been passed on to Junko. Junko was taught to be sympathetic and kind when he was a child, so this trait wasn't hard to cope with, but it does cause him problems when he lets his god complex get the better of him. His Noble Heart also makes him prone to leap to the defense of those in need, regardless of their class, position, rank, or factional ties. Injustice angers Bahamut greatly.
