Intro: Runaway Steak!

Location:	Southern Urbania
Synopsis:	It was a peaceful day, until a steak thief Digimon showed up!

Duke has posed:
It was a beautiful morning in Southern Urbania and everything was pretty peaceful, at least until a commotion broke out at one of the near by restaurants..

    "Get back here!" A man roared at a fleeing tall red lizard running off with a piece of steak.

It would not be long till several men went chasing after the four foot red dino dragon with a steak. This little chase lead them across the street, into the park. Past some children playing and over a bench. Which one of the men tripped over.

As for that red dino lizard-thing. Well...

He seemed very pleased with himself and his stolen uncooked steak.

Someone get that steak thief!

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
    Out of the trashcan leaps Kari Wolf, having painted herself black and put a yellow wolf-head sticker on her chestplate. The Canine Avenger! Dark Dog! Rar! She leaps onto the red lizard thing and pulls at his ears. "Hey! You shouldn't steal that! You should pay for it first!"

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran usually doesn't like being in crowded places like Southern Urbania. Too many noises, too much attention, too many things that could just plain go wrong.

"STOP THIEF!"

Like that, yes.

At first, the purple-furred Digimon actively ignores the chase through the park, quite content to remain curled up in a fuzzy ball deep within a hedge. However, it doesn't take long for the thief and the pursuers to charge past far too close for comfort, and Doran snarls his displeasure at being disturbed.

The snarl is abruptly cut off in a bout of sniffing as the Digimon picks up a rather familiar scent. "...Duke?" He uncoils in a snap, jumping to his feet and sticking his square head out of the hedge to figure out where the chase had actually run off to.

Duke has posed:
The Guilmon X continues to run contently with his piece of steak. Even sliding around to taunt the men with his caught prize. His red lizard tail swaying side to side, as his gold eyes narrowed and he then goes to flip the steak into the air. His mouth opening wide with all those sharp teeth.

    "Don't you dare eat that steak!" One man roared out in almost slow motion.

    "No!" Another yelled!

All of them trying to run to where Guilmon X is standing with that delicious, tasty raw meat coming down for his maw. --- Then Kari Wolf happens.

She grabs a hold of his ear fins and yanks. Causing the Digimon to roar out in pain and then the steak comes down and slaps down on top of his snout, which sends him face first into the ground. He opens one gold eye to look at the steak-- the food that is so close as he muffling speaks, "That hurts!"

Though this gives a chance for those men to catch up, they are huffing and puffing a bit...

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
Kari stops pulling on the ear fins. "Oh! Sorry. Didn't mean to hurt you!" She peers down at Duke's eye, face blackened by paint except for her eyes. "Can you pay for the food?" She asks, trying to look serious but failing because she looks way too cheerful.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran hears Duke's roar, ears immediately swiveling to pinpoint a location, and leaps out of the hedge with leaves trailing in his wake. Stealth is forgotten as he makes a beeline towards the Guilmon X's location, though his hurried pace slows noticeably when he finally catches sight of Duke. Well, no sign of actual injury, though the tiny black-and-gold humanoid (Kari) perched on Duke's head might explain the cause of the sudden end of the chase.

Doran only needs to see the humans and the steak lying on the ground, and he can pretty much figure things out from there. He ducks his head as a front paw rests on his red forehead gem, a facepalm that matches the low growling groan. "Duke!" He calls out, padding a wide circle to avoid getting anywhere near the humans. "What have you done?"

Duke has posed:
Duke hears Doran's voice and he goes to raise up his head, "Doran?" blinks, "Duke was hungry so.." Though he remembers Kari is there when she suddenly comes into his field of vision and tries to nomph the steak as it goes to pass by. Sadly that beautiful tenderloin lands on the grass under him.

That gold eye stares right at the cheerful humanoid who is failing at being serious and he tries to shake her off. "Duke. Has. No. Money." then he pauses what he is doing and blinks. "...what is money..?" He sems baffled by this realization and when the humans come to get the steak...

Duke snaps his teeth at them. "Mine!" He says loudly those pupils narrowing slightly. "Duke got this fair and square!"

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
    Kari tugs on the ear fin again when Duke goes for the steak. "You have to pay for it first!" She yells at him.
    She has a thought! "Hey Mr. Merchant! Maybe this big lizard could be your mascot in exchange for a meal?" She says looking at the guy who was shouting about the thief.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran's wings tuck in close to his spine as his ears flatten, fur noticeably bristling. Heedless of the humans or Shinki, he stalks towards Duke while the Guilmon X is preoccupied with the humans. Fast as a triggered steel trap and with a sound-effect to match, the Dorumon CHOMPS down on Duke's tail and stands fast, keeping the red lizard from getting anywhere close to the humans... or the steak, for that matter.

"No, THEY got that fair and square.That's THEIR food!" Doran's voice is rather muffled due to maintaining the toothy hold on Duke's tail. "You KNOW it's wrong to take someone else's food!"

Duke has posed:
Duke yelps when Kari pulls on his ear fins and makes an odd draconic like whimper a bit. "Duke doesn't know what pay is!" He protests and tries to shake Kari off again.

    Though to Kari's suggestion, the man who is in charge, taps his chin. "Well.. I.. don't know if we can just take in an animal."

"Duke is no animal!" The Guilmon X declares with a huff of smoke from his nostrils. "Duke is Digi--" Then he barks out a roar as Doran bites down on his tail. He closes his eyes and whines out as he speaks, "But Duke is HUNGRY!!"

This causes the men to just look at one another and then at this, very odd circumstance presented before them. By this point it has gotten some people's attention including a few law officalls-- which no one seems to know what to do in this.

Yes the Multiverse is full of strange things, but when dealing with animal-like creatures.. do you throw them in a jail?? Or an animal shelter??

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
    Kari is knocked off of Duke when he roars, tumbling to the ground with an oof. She picks herself back up. "He talks, so he's not an animal! Plus you'll get kids pulling their parents into your shop so they can see Duke!" Kari could also pay for Duke's meal, but wants to save money for Master's birthday gift and so wants to resolve it through other means first.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran lets go of Duke's tail, though it's perfectly obvious he's still angry. "That's what happens when you take someone else's food and get caught -- you go hungry!" Kari's attempts to find a compromise between Duke getting food and the humans getting compensated is appreciated, but the Dorumon can't really see that working out any better. Duke would eat the entire store and probably be stuck in a cage, for all he knows, and what good will that do anyone?

It's only at this point that he notices that they're gathering a crowd, and with some policemen as well. He looks around uneasily, his head lowering and spine hunching. This is NOT good. "We need to go, Duke," he says quietly, pressing against Duke's side as if to turn him away from the humans -- and the steak. His tone is full of warning and danger, thick enough even the Guilmon X's hard-headedness should pick up on it.

Duke has posed:
Duke blinks at Kari's suggestion at the humans. "...Huh?" He says in heavy confusion, even as Doran lets go of his tail and he wags it a bit to get rid of the sting. He also glances over to Doran, "..that also hurt." He says with a huff.

    The men think on this a bit, "You know..."

However that is when Doran is starting to shove Duke out of here and Duke hears the warning in Doran's voice, "But the steak!" Duke says with a upset whine. However it would seem they /have/ gathered a crowd cause of his antics and now-- he is caught in a dilemma.

Steak...
    Run...
        Steak..
            Run..

The Guilman X stares up into the air as he tries to decide this. He looks at the crowd, he looks at his friend, he looks at the steak. He eyes the steak. "..can't we run with the food..?"

    The man then blinks gently, "Wait run?" As one of them realizes what they are planning. "You still have to pay for ruining a decently good Tenderloin! You know how much this piece of meat costs?"

The Guilmon X looks at the man with those gold eyes then shakes his head. "Nu-uh. Duke don't know. Duke just hungry. You humans are strange to call food names." Then he blinks. "Oh right. Danger." As he remembers he is /still/ in a problem and then with a shove of his snout against Doran as he starts to run again. "Ok. We go! But I am still Hungry!!"

The men stand there and blink there eyes before the true owner of the establishment shows up and points his finger toward them. "You better scram and if I ever see either of you at my establishment, I'll have you served to the customers!"

    Then the guy looks over at their boss. "You wouldn't.. would you?"

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
    Kari grumbles as she pays for the tenderloin for the Guilmon X. And with a hurry, she changes her armor to the more heavy-lifting Dire Wolf armor and jumps after the pair, tenderloin held above her in great big claws.
    "Hey, you forgot your food!" She calls out after Duke, bouncing along after them.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran grimaces a bit at Duke's unintentional 'spilling of the beans', but just keeps staring balefully at the gathering humans as if to dare them to get close. When the Guilmon X finally gets his thoughts straight and shoves off, the Dorumon turns as if to follow -- only for Kari to bounce after them, holding the steak aloft. He casts a quick glare at the humans, then nods to Kari. "Let's talk elsewhere. Hang on!" He snaps up the steak in his jaws, twisting his head so Kari can grab an ear or tuft of fur on his head, and charges past Duke and away from the area. He doesn't eat the steak -- he's not THAT mean -- but Duke will undoubtedly follow the meat at the exclusion of all else.

Duke has posed:
Duke is indeed running way, though when Kari brings up the steak, his ear fins raise up and his eyes lighten up, "Food!" Only the food goes to Doran who he tries to bite it away from, to only fail in the process as the furry dragon-wolf suddenly charges off with greater speed.

"Fooood!!" Duke calls out as he goes chasing after Doran and possibly Kari as well. High tailing it after them while chanting about food. Yeah, he is hung up on eating.

This though leaves people rather confused and most of them standing around as they watch the two Digimon and possible Kari run off with the steak.

Some kids also caught this all on webcam and took photos too. This antics may be showing up later on someone's news site.

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
    Kari hangs on to Doran for dear life as she's bounced against the dorumon's side. She admires Duke's dedication to food, even if she doesn't really get it. Doran was right to grab the food and run with it, since the Guilmon X /is/ following! "I hope this is all worth it!" She comments as she climbs her way into a better position, one between Doran's shoulders.
