Courier Six (32) has posed:
LAST TIME, ON NEW VEGAS ADVENTURES

A sweeping shot of the Ace & Eights with the twinkling lights of the stars beyond. Ron Perlman's voice! "Even the man with everything he could want sometimes need to take a step forward. For the Courier, that was hopefully a step to freedom."
A shot of the Courier and his co-conspirators inside, looking at flickering holograms. "Tallbranch knew the stakes of his game, even if the House held most of the cards."
A sweeping look across Outer Vegas, homes and cars burning out to the southwest. "A man doesn't run into a war without a plan, and the Courier needed support. That meant playing nice with the NCR for now."

And grim faced NCR troopers engage in close combat with drug-fueled Fiends. "Today, some measure of the law would be coming for those who saw fit to ignore every little bit of what that means."

The imposing entrance of Vault 3, worryingly open the the air, with crucified and hung Vault Suits all over. "And War Never Changes."

    CONTROL

Courier Six (32) has posed:
The NCR has a major military presence in New Vegas. That base is Camp McCarran, just to the west of Vegas where the NCR has cordial relations with the Crimson Caravan, which helps get supplies to the region, and a much less cordial relationship with the local crazies, the Fiends.

Today, Johnny is on top of the wall surrounding the base with a pair of binoculars, scanning the region off to the southwest, where the smouldering ruins of the suburbs of Las Vegas lie, still smouldering. Not because they fell in the war, but because people were still fighting a war in the region. Or at least, engaging in lawless bandrity.

A stone faced old black man stands next to the Courier, a rifle at his hip. Major Dhatri grumbles. "And you're really bringin' back those outsiders after the hubhub out at Gomorrah? You know those shifty fucks raised the price for the NCR there after that broo-hah-hah the last time."

Johnny sighs, looking over his shoulder at the Major. "Yeah, we're pushing out today. I want to get in there and find out what the hell they've got that's so important."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
The NCR personnel posted at McCarran will hear the loud roar of a functioning motor vehicle. One could be forgiven for thinking the Boomers had gotten ballsy today, until suddenly the vehicle pulls up at the base's limits. Out steps Alexis Maaka, bringing with her a rifle retrieved from the trunk. The FAL slings over her shoulder, and she doesn't take long to approach the walls.

After finding her way up, she gives Johnny a nod before hands are shook with the cowboy and the Major. "I wasn't involved in that whole situation, sadly, but I can assure you we won't have a repeat of it here if we can help it." She says, removing her sunglasses and lowering the scarf around her neck.

"So what's all this about bounties?" She asks Johnny.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa looks to the Major for a moment she's suited up in her optic cameo suit and is armed from the looks of her. The mark of weapon she's got at her hips and across her back just even adds more to her being from off world. She listens to Johnny and the Major keeping quiet for the moment, she's mostly trying to brace her self for whatever horror's she's going to find in dealing with the Fiend's today. Regardless of her views on anything here? the Fiends need to go one way or another. There were no real prisons she got that, and these guys were just rampaging. She didn't even know the full deal yet either. Still she was as ready as she ever was going to be for this.

Kotone shifts on her feet a little bit as Alexis speaks up. She looks at the major keeping the expression on her face about as serious as she can be. She nods a little bit affirming Alexis statement also she does ask a question about the Bounties.

"Any extra information on the targets? Weapons? Gear? Anything we should be aware of in dealing with these guys?"

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The rather quiet, massively tall SPARTAN is, at the moment, looking over the NCR operation while leaning back against the wall. Her War Master armor seems to be equipped with the Active Camoflage unit, but she's more focused on the NCR military than the Fiends while they're here.

Not that she doesn't trust the NCR, but she wanted to judge how they were, militarily. The kinds of recruits they have. It seems a bit odd to do an all volunteer force in a post-apocolyptic world like this, she thinks, but she supposes if they just forced a gun into everyone's hands, they'd be no better than the Legion coming from the East.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @NOBLE SIX

All Volunteer is right, though there is a sense that a number of these kids came out with an idea for adventure. They are decently geared though... Anyone with knowledge of earth based weaponry will see the bulk of the troops are outfitted with armor and an AR-10 or M-14 equivalent service rifle of some sort.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
The STARBOUND FLOTILLA is here today. They test-ran some specialist gear recently. Durasteel-energy armor produced with their mass of stolen technology. Moonfin, the fishman, is in elaborate full-body durasteel armor that looks like a powered cross between a diving suit and a samurai's armor. Biteblade, the humanoid plant, is in durasteel plating with elaborately carved wood and bone ornaments over glowing powered components. Pavo the bird-girl wears a pirate-styled set of mesoamerican-style armor, with bands of energized fabric linking the pieces and powering them. Albert the monkey-man is wearing elaborate dystopian commando armor reconstructed with a 'rebel spy' aesthetic: A sleeker faceplate, a slimmer form, and a more chaotic design that integrates thin, resilient plates of durasteel. George (just plain human) wears a set of futuristic EVA-combat and exploration armor in a suit that glows a gentle blue at the faceplate. Seft, the robotic Flotilla member, is wearing full-on medieval knight armor with a soft energized glow below the plates on her body, and especially around the eyes.

Biteblade is the one who gives a grimace to Dhatri, and they appear to be the designated Starbound leader today. "Floran think, maybe product no good for Enseeare anyway. Remember? Enseeare killed there too. Maybe give sssome ssspace, a while?" Biteblade has their own binoculars. They're going to scope out the area heavily, taking in the lay of the land. Intending to hunt and kill through it, of course. "Floran make it up to Enseeare. Do favor, help out. Make up difference. Floran hear, you want Fiend headsss. Floran go, take them. Namesss? Dessscription?"

As soon as there's not more information to be had from the NCR, Biteblade intends to leap off the wall and go full Tribal Hunter mode, advancing sneakily to the area designated Fiend territory. It helps that they ought to resemble a particularly leafy bit of desert flora.

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
There is a roar of an electric motor as a familiar-looking (to the Murasame people, anyway) bike streaks across the landscape and skids to a halt in front of the base. He looks up the wall at those present, and disembarks, removing his helmet and carrying it under one arm as he approaches the wall. "FLoat." There is the burst of feathers around him, dissipating into magic as he suddenl y bolts forward, lifting off the ground in a hover as he bounds off of the ground...

And goes vertical along the wall, using his momentum to scale it with a few quick wall-bounds and flipping over the edge to hit the top of the wall in a slight crouch. He straightens himself and folds his arms. "I am prepared." Souji says simply, looking out in the direction that the others are watching.

He looks to the Flotilla members as they arrive, nodding to them in greeting. He doesn't interrupt as Biteblade gets down to business, and waits for the Plan.

Tallbranch, he finds, always has a Plan.

Rory White (673) has posed:
Violence isn't Rory's preference, not by a long shot. Those who died in the Multiverse truly died - it wasn't something you could kiss and make up afterward for. Dead brains rot and Egos are lost for good.

Despite this, Kotone is grimly determined to see the Fiends eradicated.

Rory is one of the last to arrive, and unannounced at that. When she does, it's with a half-dozen treaded drones and another dozen small flying ones orbiting around her. She's decked out in quite a stylish set of fibrous exoskeleton armor and seems to have spent the last few days fabbing up an array of weapons - grenades, flechette sprayers, mini-missiles, all manner of things. Her face has been left visible, albeit behind a transparent metal plate, and only her hair's free.

"We'll know soon enough. I'll scour the region from the air and build a tactical map. ... ... I'm trusting you people on this being the right thing to do."

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @BITEBLADE, BOUNTY CREW:

Dhatri had, for once, been briefed that the primary contact for the Starbounders was going to be a plant lady. He's... well, he's getting used to them being around. Less so magic and shit, that's still really weird.

"Right, so, there's a number of the leaders we want. Heads for proof."
"Cook Cook is a violent bastard who enjoys, as you might guess, cooking our troops after they get killed. Don't eat anything at their camps, by the way. Violet is a lady who really likes dogs and has a whole mess of them, she's out farther south towards the quarry. Driver Nephi is... well he's one of their 'religious leaders' in that he's good at beating those people into a frenzy. All of them are responsiblefor the deaths of my troops on a daily basis. I want them gone. Caps for all of them."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Alexis nods, professional and curt. "We'll get it done. How many a head you offering?"

When Biteblade does take off to go hunting for heads, Alexis joins them, sliding down with a fibrecord wire as though she were rapelling down the wall, which she technically is doing.

The rest of the way down, she falls, landing on her feet and sprints towards Biteblade and follows, rifle in hand as she makes a little a show of herself as possible.

Her optics scan out in the distance while she follows the floran. Belatedly, she's also brought her STALKER suit along for this too, the helmet folding into place as the bottom half of the mask is covered in scarf. Luckily she can blend into the enviroment thanks to it's cloak, as well as the adaptive camo-tech giving her a lizardlike quality.

It's creepy how she changes color every other second like a chameleon's skin.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @THE REST:

Johnny growls and looks down at the region. There's scattered gunfire out in the 'wilds' of the suburbs. "Try not to do too much damage to the region. I know you've all got... bigger gear. But those are people's homes out there, and once this is dealt with... I'd like them to have a home to go back to."

Three or four more troops with high powered rifles, even one with what appears to be a newly constructed DMR, take up positions on the parapets. "We're facing folks with light armor, mixed loadouts but plenty of energy weapons for some reason, and they're likely all stuffed to the gills with chems. Let's keep it... cleanish."

Zwei (596) has posed:
Zwei's newest mission presents a unique situation, in that it is ostensibly an extermination op, but simply bombing the entire area would be self-defeating for the locals; which is fine, because Asche is preoccupied with the Galiandan wilderness anyways. Souji knows why.

And so Weiss is the only one present today. She's made the bare minimum of effort to blend in, colourizing her skin, hair and eyes to fair, blonde and dark green respectively, but leaving her features and build otherwise exactly the same. Not expecting all-out war, she's left her sealed combat armour behind, instead arriving in a leather jacket and jeans that look somewhat appropriate to the area, though far less worn. Rather than toting along period specific ballistic weaponry, she's simply opted not to carry any at all, simply rocking back and forth on her heels with her hands in her pockets as everyone arrives, wirelessly pinging Rory with an access request to her drone network since Asche isn't around to deploy his recon net. "Got it." she says in a far away sort of tone to Johnny. "Rules of engagement have been notified. I'll begin whenever everyone is ready."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa would never force Rory to come, heck she's not sure how heavily into this she's going to be? However this is one problem she knows has to be handled. So here she is as she hears about them being cannibals? That is the final nail in the coffin. This is something she'd be able to sleep fine after really, there's no doubt in her heart today.

She takes notes and understands why they need the heads as proof. It's nothing about savagery it's the only way to know and hauling a full corpse all the way back.

"Understood Major."

With that she ripples as she activates her therm optic cameo. She's going to help with the head hunting and she moves after Alexis, the leaders go down, and that will help to make the rest of these raiders easier pickings.

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
"There are some people who only understand pain and death. These beings we are facing are little better than animals." Souji replies to Rory. "Removing them will significantly improve the quality of life for all peoples in this region." He pauses and nods to Rory. "Thank you for coming. We appreciate your support." Rory's pacifistic ways make this actually a mild surprise for Souji.

He looks to Johnny and gestures. "I pride myself on precision. You will have no difficulties with that from me."

Weiss's arrival is not unexpected. Asche is more than capable of handling things on their own. "Weiss. Good to see you. Let's get this done." Like the others, Souji simply backflips off of the wall, his descent abruptly slowing as he nears the ground in that same odd hovering manner. He turns and joins the operations team in moving into the designated area.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
"Floran know how to deal with berssserker fighter." Biteblade says, nodding. "Floran, watch for badguy." They're a little confused about why the cannibalism is a bad thing, but they leave that unspoken. "You want gone, Floran make gone. Floran, not hurt land, homesss." Then they drop heavily over the wall, but land softly, with a gentle rustle of leaves. They don't mind the shadowing Alexis does.

They draw their bow and intend on getting a headstart on this. Since the Fiends have no unified alert system or tactical awareness, swiftness is prioritized over stealth, and Biteblade uses energy-assisted dashes to close the distance swiftly. Outrun the bad news and there's no problem. They want to make their way into the suburbs with a sprinting sneaking sort of approach, and they're going to shoot first and ask questions later. The other Starbounders will leave the camp as well, albeit less showily. Albert is keeping his explosives away for today, using only his energized hammer, but Seft is still going to use her laser pistol. George, with his humming energy baton, Pavo, with a powered cutlass, and Moonfin, with their powered katana, are going to... Mostly keep back for backup, advancing more slowly.

Biteblade, using tactical vision granted by Rory, intends to close in and start murdering outer patrols and bandit groups ASAP with a savage, tribal efficiency and a hefty compound bow.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    SOUTH VEGAS

One gets the sense of the tension out here on what seems to be a secondary warfront for the NCR. One side is the Legion and their quiet yet palpable menace. The other side is South Vegas with now highly scattered settlements and the sound of gunfire in the streets. As the group move out into the suburbs, there's a sudden muffled 'crack' of gunfire behind them, and Johnny can be seen on the walls of Vegas with a anti-materiel rifle, and in the distance there's a puff of red from around a corner of a building. That flushes out their first set of targets. There's a bunch of them, all wild eyed and screaming, several charging at the group with melee weapons and pistols like some sort of mad infantry charge. There's another group hanging back with busted up laser weapons, peppering the whole field, friend or foe, with dangerous light.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
As the team was leaving to head out into the combat zone, Noble Six had vanished. Not figuratively, like ducking into a hiding place and preparing for an ambush, but literally, light bending around her armor thanks to the optical camo device installed on it.

This would allow her to move around to the side of where the Fiends are going to be attacking from. This time around, Noble Six has brought her shotgun, their last encounter with the Fiends being at distance. She wanted to get up close and personal.

She does spot the group of stragglers behind the rest, with the laser weapons, and waits for the first group to move past her towards the others. Attack the back line, take them down before they know what's about to happen. That's the plan.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Juno Eclipse is not fashionably late to anything. She is a consummate professional, a veritable model of behaviour for an officer of the Galactic Empire... she's never late to anything, because tardiness is one of those things that Darth Vader finds a personal affront, and tardy people tend not to live very long in his service.

So... it's a good thing that the smuggler, mercenary, and ne'er-do-well "Blackout" is not Juno Eclipse, then, because she's a bit late to the New Vegas party, because she's spent the last twenty-four hours, give or take, working on the Rogue Shadow and subjecting herself to all manner of caffeine and stimulants to keep herself functional.

She's late to the party, except she doesn't actually arrive on the ground. She has no intention of putting herself in harm's way, because her survival instincts are top-notch, thank you very much!

They might hear someone joining their frequency, though.

[This is Blackout. Sorry I'm a bit late. I'm in my ship in orbit above your approximate location; I won't be joining you on the ground today, but I can provide intelligence and attempt to keep your friends busy.]

The transmission is interrupted by a crackle of stati<span style="color:.

[cxterm81">I'm still giving my sensors a chance to catch up on the situation, but it shouldn't take me too long. I'm picking up gunfire, but it isn't close enough to be a concern yet. You'll be heading into the combat zone soon at your current pace. Keep an eye out for stray shots. You weren't kidding when you said it was a bit of a mess out here, Mr. Tallbranch.</span>]

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade is the first into the fray. Firing off arrow after hefty steel arrow, they shortly close the distance and slip their bow away into their Matter Manipulator, drawing a pair of powered knives that hum with a dangerous light. Suffering some middling wounding on the way in from the laser weapons, Biteblade immediately moves to address that issue.

"YOU LEAVE SSSOUTH LAND, OR FLORAN TEAR OUT FIEND MEAT! YOU, GET ONLY WARNING NOW!" They call out, before attempting to POUNCE right onto the screaming drugged-up vanguards, hopefully pinning one of them with a melee weapon and immediately going to dismember an arm or leg and devour it. If they can do this, they'll turn into a whirling blender of knife-based violence while they begin regenerating wounds and moving with high energy. But that comes only if they can get the chance to start eating.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
As the situation goes from a hunt in the desert to EXTREME URBAN WARFARE, Alexis growls at her own personal choice in rifle. Oh well, she can still work with this. She has OPTIONS.

Going over said options, she decides on a plan of action. >Kotone, with me.< Her neural comms blip at Kotone's own, and the older cyborg begins her ascent up the side of a building, using some rubble, trash bins, and fire escapes to climb her way up.

Her rifle's been slung, so she begins to climb until she reaches the top of the building using a climbing pick.

Blackout's assistance via sensors is greatly appreicated, as she takes note of her warnings and continues to make her way upwards.

Set up with a comfortable sniper position, she loads up with the FAL and sights into the melee.

It's tricky, but she manages to find some good raiders to take potshots at, the rifle giving off a crack per shot as she provides sniper support.

There's no sound suppressor, a silencer would just be a detriment for this, but she does keep a flash-hider mounted onto the rifle's muzzle. Of course, she'll be hard to spot in the middle of this confusion anyways, being a few stories up and crouching.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
George and Albert are the next to get into the fray. Both of them close in on Biteblade's attempted melee position and attempt to cover her. The two have more modern tactics, letting them dodge the laser fire but suffer a bit from the melee attacks and pistols. Albert intends to primarily tank for the group, drawing all the aggression he can while going for disabling or distracting blows, while George is purely after brutal disarming and violence. Using the DISARMING style of Robusting, he intends to start slamming them on the ground and tearing weapons out of hands while he keeps a defensive, but admittedly exhausting, stance with his baton.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Seft and Moonfin are the next to move in. The latter covers the former, and joins with George and Albert; as a team, they work to cover Seft and Biteblade, who are in more dangerous situations. Seft, specifically, because she's leveled her own, much higher quality, much better maintained laser pistol. The Pew Pew will light things up very well while Moonfin makes themselves busy with a purely defensive stance. While Albert draws aggression from the melee fiends, Moonfin uses his power-katana to... Deflect lasers for the Flotilla group where he can. That's still just as impossible as it was with steel! Oh well. Unfortunately the repeated impacts are going to exhaust him and stress his arms severely.

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
Souji moves quickly, letting Biteblade and Albert take point: The Floran and Apex are better armored than he is. Souji depends on speed and finesse to avoid damage.

Well, that and being able to heal rapidly using his weapon. But that requires him to actually unsheathe the Murasame Blade.

This group is not worthy. Souji takes a look at the incoming assault team, and lunges towards the wall of the building next to him, laser blasts searing past as he does something unexpected:

He rebounds off of the wall, flipping vertically over the Fiend assault squad. As he rotates, his hands stretch downwards towards the group below him. They might look up in slow motion as they see the pattern form, crackling power surging over his hands.

"Thunder-2."

There is a sudden eruption of arcing electrical power that cascades down into the Fiend force, not touching allies due to his magical control.

He lands on the opposite side in a kneeling position, a couple painful-looking, smoking laser wounds in his suit, and gets ready to move again.

Rory White (673) has posed:
"So everyone keeps saying. So maybe everyone is right and I'm the one in the wrong... my principles never accounted for situations being THIS bad.... but I understand how it dangerous it will be for everyone else if they're all true! ... I'm not a hardline pacifist... only a friend."

With a whoosh of air, Rory's brigade of Saucer drones flies up high in the sky. Anyone with the proper protocols and communications gear will notice her Tacnet going live. But the drones rise up high, orbiting her in a hexagon formation before they fly off. Her goal is to seat them quietly over the Fiend's base and unleash a torrent of full-spectrum scans to establish a complete map of the terrain - even seeing within buildings, to a degree.

It appears much like the view of an RTS game, showing infrared signatures and digital targeting overlays. Weapons are scanned and analyzed, the ammo levels enemies likely possess show up in Augmented Reality...

Yes. To someone looking at the map, it's like playing an RTS.

To someone strolling in using Augmented Reality, it's like being in an FPS with an aimbot and hacks to see through walls, enemy health, and other statistics.

Those with the right weapons who link up are even provided firing solutions.

Of course, anyone fleeting on foot will be tagged by their IR signature...

Between Rory and Blackout, this is likely to be a massacre where greater intel is concerned.

The question then is what she herself plans to do, on approach to the base while guarded with a half-dozen weapon-toting robots on treads.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    EYES IN THE SKY:

There's more than enough of the Fiends milling around out in the wilds, scavenging through bins and doing rude things to each other and whatever people they come across thankfully, not many at this point. These are 'hunting parties' which for them usually means 'get hopped up and go mess with people'.
That said, there's a squad of NCR troops getting torn apart a few blocks to the south of the main groups position, the gunfire becoming more and more sporadic as the troopers fall under a wave of bodies.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Pavo, of corse, is not worried about the melee group. The main Core Fleet have focused on the melee, but Pavo is a bit more daring, and a bit more interested in looting expensive laser weapons, even if they're busted! She LEAPS over the vanguard battle with an energy-assisted bound, some dozens of feet into the air, before landing further ahead and trying to close in on the gun-toting tribals, swinging the powered cutlass and intending to slice them up! She'll likely sustain a lot more wounding than the others for her trouble though, as she presents an obvious target for the ranged fighters.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa gets patched inot thing thanks to Blackout. She takes a moment to send the smuggler a connection request. The extra information would be very darn useful and agument what Rory has.

<<Copy that.>>

She moves in making use of what cover she can do. She's got her weapon ready, she's now waiting for being from a rnage but she's going to get to a good perch as well. It take s abit but soon she finfs he self up and ready. She's also thankful the NCR has brought a team of marksmen along for this too. The more lead in the air the better, she thinks.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @STUCK IN SQUAD:

The Fiends are certainly not expecting the sudden mass of empowered Outworlders jumping on them at close range, that's for sure. They have trouble slowing down Rangers but eventually get the better of them, that's for sure. That said, Biteblade in particular is about to get a rousing insit into what is driving these fools.

When Johnny said that they were chemmed up, he wasn't kidding. A devoured arm will give the Floran a sensation of slowed down time, and murderous rage that wasn't her own. Like Super PCP.

As for the rest, the varous Starbounders have an easy enough time handling the agression of these fools. Lightning and swords and robusting and Pewpew lasers make very short work of this group, but there's screams and cries from all around them now. Going loud has attracted attention.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Up above, the Rogue Shadow drifts serenely, too high to be seen. That's just as well, because it's probably visually identifiable as a Confederate ship, even though "Blackout" is supposedly an unaffiliated mercenary. (Which she is. It's just, you know, a bit of a bent truth. No harm in that, right?)

[There are more where these came from further out, but it looks like their forces are largely disorganised and milling about. I'm guessing these are either scouts or outriders of some kind. They'll likely leave you alone unless you move into visual range.]

In the cockpit, Juno shucks off her uniform cap and tosses it onto the empty copilot's seat, leaning forward to shrug out of her regulation uniform jacket and tossing it the cap's way. The sleeveless tank top under that is far more comfortable; the ship may be cold most of the time, but missions always get her blood going. That done, she leans forward to flick a few switches, keying into a few consoles above her head.

[Be advised, I'm also picking up an NCR squadron south of your general location. If you want to save them, you're going to have to move quickly. They're under attack by these Fiends, and their life signs are fading. I'm afraid there's not much I can do for them from up here.]

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @LOOT? LOOT!:

PAVO... Pavo's booty senses are tingling. These folks seem to be masters of the scavenge and pinch, and are carrying junk food, caps, stimpacks and more back to their camps in old gabage bags and whatever sort of storage they can find.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Alexis continues to snipe before she detects something on Rory and Blackout's scans. She turns her head and glances southwards, her optics scanning out. "I confirm last, NCR's getting torn a new one down south of our position." SHe says over comms. Giving a look to Kotone, she nods to the girl. "Shift yourself closer towards that way and do what you can to the heat off of their heads, I got this zone covered."

Orders given, she focuses back on the melee closer to the position, firing accurate and careful single shots to make sure she doesn't accidentally hit a friendly. She aims center mass for the most part, trying to drop these guys with heavy hitting 7.62 NATO rounds. She was smart to bring a battle rifle to this job, given the need for knockdown power.

After the melee here dies down, Alexis begins to move paraell to the Starbounders and Souji, using orbital scans and drone surveilance to navigate her way across the rooftops, leaping and climbing her way with nimble grace like a jungle cat on the prowl.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Weiss seems alarmingly untroubled along the walk into the burning suburbs. Normally she'd either be entirely serious and armed to the teeth, or entirely unserious and making cheerful smalltalk. Today she seems a little . . . out of it. More like Asche really, concerning herself more with observing the landscape of the post-apocalypse with a deeply contemplative stare. Even were she apt to give away something in her expression, Zwei's thoughts move too swiftly to be properly expressed in any understandable way that hasn't been done deliberately. Whatever it might be thinking is up to anyone to guess, if they care. Barely a thought goes to the murderous junkies the rest of the group swiftly and efficiently puts down, a stray laser blast suddenly angling a few degrees off to the side as it passes within a meter of her as her point interception system kicks in.

As she connects to Rory's tactical network in time with Juno's timely advice, that carelessly sedate pace goes out the window. Weiss takes a deep breath (simply for effect), leans down to the ground in a sprinter's start, and then abruptly disappears in a peal of supersonic thunder, the ground around her exploding into a cloud of pulverized concrete. By the time anyone can blink, she has already reappeared right inbetween the battle lines drawn by the wayward NCR squad and the Fiends, cratering the ground where she stops as she drives a nigh instantaneous elbow strike into the midsection of the closest enemy. Assuming their physical durability is more or less baseline for a human, the impact is enough to turn everything between the neck and the hips into a twenty meter splatter of red down the road.

It's flagrant and completely unjustified overkill; especially coming from someone who normally plays their cards fairly close to their chest. Could Zwei be angry? Or is there some other, more alien motivation at play?

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The communication about the NCR squad that's pinned down by the Fiends get's Noble Six's attention, and she diverts from her original action towards their location.

Still stealthed, she moves through the ruins until she comes up to the flank of the Fiends, spotting the NCR group that is in trouble as well.

Noble Six's opening salvo is a plasma grenade. Not one native to this world, but one of the ones from her own world, aiming to stick it to one of the Fiends in the middle of the group and do maximum damage.

Anyone not taken out by that explosion, the armored SPARTAN unstealths with the first blast of her shotgun, aiming to cut down anyone left standing.

Once it's all said and done, she'll go to the NCR troops and administer first aid as needed. She may not be a medic, but she has bio foam she can use to treat them until they can get to a real medic.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade is built to handle all sorts of chemicals. The detrimental effects of drugs aren't the active effects in battle. After wolfing down an arm, Biteblade gets their blades out again. "Full of chem. No pain, twitchy reflex." Flipping the daggers into a reverse grip now, "Entire tribe, bersserkersss. handle like zombiesss. Only down if dead. We go now. Kill all. No warning worksss. Kill ALL." The Floran brutally kicks a downed corpse with some of the newfound drugged-up aggression, then takes off SPRINTING at superhuman speeds, closing the distance on the new gang swiftly.

"EVERYONE OUT OF FLORAN WAY. FLORAN HAVE HEAD FULL OF MAD, GUT FULL OF DRUG, FISSST FULL OF KNIFE!" She calls out, intending to find the NCR squadron immediately, close in, and start murdering Fiends immediately in close-range brutal ways. The drugs have taken a pretty notable effect and the Floran is suffering even more of a berserker state than normal. They intend to start pouncing on enemy combatants, pinning them down, and just repeatedly stabbing and biting at them until they've not moved for several seconds, or alternately swinging the daggers with such incredible force that they'll dismember limbs entirely. "YOU GO! YOU RUN! YOU DIE!" Even in the drugged-up state, though, Biteblade remembers: They need to find leaders. These people will simply flee back to their leaders. There has to be someone who gets a little too intimidated by this brutal tribal display.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
<<Not sure if they are smart enough to use tactics like that but, we shouldn't under estimate them. Hum? You know they'd have to see me first.>>

At the mention of a NCR unit being in trouble gets her attention. Damn if it's not one thing it's another and if they could bail them out? It could be more firepower right? Alexis's words are music to her ears.

She now starts to shift her vantage point to cover the direction that the. She takes her weapon in hand and now she starts to scope out the fiends targeting the NCR unit she then line up a shot, and starts letting the controlled bursts left she'll put focus on any fiends with heavy weapons or about to mess up the NCR group even worse

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @NCR SQUAD:

And like a wrecking ball, there's combatants all over the Fiends, and gunfire puring down on them. Two of the women are able to howl right back at Biteblade. "WE RULE VEGAS PRE-" And then she hasn't got a tongue to talk or most of her face for that matter. Clearly not a leader though as she's not fancy enough for that. Zwei's sudden insertion also gets attention on the ranged buch who had just been trotting in to loot the dead and then There Is Blood.

Noble's entrance gets more of a reaction, viscerally, from one of the Fiends who howls something about RANGER before a shotgun empties out his chest.
Various sniper shots finish off the straglers and those who are still somehow breathing, moving or spasming while already dead.

Only two of the NCR troopers here have any chance of survival and that's if there's a medic here, Right Now. Noble can stableize but one is missing an arm and another has a sucking chest wound.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
The other Starbounders are running out of breath just trying to catch up with Biteblade. Except Pavo, who's currently a bit busy stealing SWEET LOOTS. Mostly medical supplies (to sell later) and weapons (to deconstruct later). But then she hears something.

She's zoomed past the other Starbounders.

She is going to go to the NCR troops and sell them all the medical supplies she's looted from the Fiends. At 400% markup. But she DOES plan to use the drugs with frentic expertise in stabilizing them until Rory can get here.

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
Souji moves to watch the Starbound team's flank, willing to not go in on the second group. He watches the environment, waiting to make sure no one interrupts their team, acting as a fast response role for the moment while they secure their rear lines and prepare to move on to seek out objectives.

Rory White (673) has posed:
It's a very good thing that Biteblade and Noble Six weren't the only ones who picked up on the skirmish. Rory's put full power in her suit's exoskeleton towards strength and speed and thus, gone bursting across the battlefield in a somewhat clumsy dash. Her drones have fanned out and several move to engage pockets of distant Fiends with SURPRISE LASERS IN THE EYES.

Lasers that aren't fancy plasma weapons with bolts that fire off like guns. No, lasers of the real science kind.

Lasers that travel at the speed of light and are only visible if you're looking straight into them or they diffuse when stroking smoke.

Rory herself... she arrives in time to help Noble Six, arms full of Nanobandages. Which look like weird, miscolored peaches.

Peaches that she splatters onto the wounds. The miracle nanotech seals itself to the wound and works to correct the worst possible problems. Although it cannot mend anything much more serious than a knife stab...

For those beyond its immediate aid, the nanites are programmed to place the body in a state of stasis, preventing them from bleeding out and ensuring that oxygen continues to reach the brain...

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Alexis makes another leap before landing, and she sees Biteblade take a chomp out of someone. Then something happens, and they go fucking apeshit towards the next wave of Fiends.

"Holy shit!" She actually exclaims, thankfully not out loud, but the comms get her thoughts on the manner summed up pretty well.

Even Yuki couldn't leg it that quickly, even with her augs fueling her.

That said, it's clear that Biteblade's on /something./ She takes a note not to go anywhere near the bodies after this without her helmet in place.

Moment of awestruck horror done, Alexis continues to try and keep pace with the Starbounders following Bite. The floran can hold their own fine, but the others (and Souji) could use some backup all the same.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @STARBOUNDERS - Biteblade

Those that aren't hyperpowered plantladies are going to become aware that there's more Fiends... backing up now. At least some of them have an abundance of caution as a few start raising cries of alert and alarm. They are tribals, after all.
Also the eyes in the sky will be able to spot something funny. There's flutters of people under optic camo out there, fluttering in towards the group from multiple angles. Hard to pinpoint other than the distortions that are being cast about in the evening sun.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
In the cockpit, Juno leans back in her chair, listening to the audio communications and keeping half an eye on her forward console. Every so often she leans over to type something into the copilot's console, though the chair is empty -- she's taken the ship out alone, today.

At Rory's comments on reaching the stricken troopers, Juno glances back to the pilot's console, the fading vitals of the NCR troopers reflecting in her eyes.

[I'm not familiar with that sort of treatment, but hopefully that's neough to save them. Good luck.]

And then suddenly Pavo is darting back towards the troopers with an armful of medical supplies, prompting a slightly blank look from the pilot. What's the Avian doing?

And then Rory hits on whatever it is Pavo's doing, and the pilot sighs. Well, at least it'll save their lives.

[If they can't afford those supplies, take it out of my cut.]

Straightening, she reaches over to the sorage compartment and digs around a bit until she comes up with a stimulant of her own; something that goes right into the wrist and lends a little more alertness to her tired eyes. All these stimulants can't be good for her with the way she's been relying on them over the past few days, but... she can sleep when she's dead. There's just too much work to do.

She takes a deep breath as the concoction hits her veins, screws her eyes shut for a moment, and then, exhaling, she focuses her attention on her cockpit displays. Her voice sounds a bit brighter after that, although she keeps her tone one of professional <span style="color:alm.

[cxterm81">I'm not reading any particularly large groups, but there are still scattered Fiends. It looks like Rory's found them. It looks like few of these Fiends rae actually organised. That's working to all of your favour.</span>]

And then, a request from Albert to track non-squadron movement, to find its <span style="color:entre.

    [cxterm81">Affirmative. I'm already on it, Albert.</span>]

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @NCR TROOPERS

First off, Pavo, they can't buy anything because they're bleeding out. Second, the attention by Rory and Pavo are enough to keep these two from dying. Horribly maimed but not dying at least.

Zwei (596) has posed:
The sight of the dead and dying NCR troopers is the first thing that gives Weiss pause, straightening up as the rest of the group sets upon the Fiends she hadn't had the chance to kill yet. Still with that distant and implacable expression, she scans each one of them to assess the extent of their internal damage, writing off all of them already braindead. There is a momentary conflict over whether or not to break off the assault to save them, but Rory, Noble, and strangely enough, Pavo, seem to have the situation covered, and so the Armiger is free to continue what she was built for. Steady, merciless butchery.

"I will preempt further damage." she says, before disappearing in another puff of shattered earth, becoming a dot against the sky as she circumvents the city streets in an effort to land in the middle of the nearest group Rory and Juno can locate. Zwei isn't in a cooperative mood today. Something about the Fiends has it employing Weiss in such an out of character way, diving headlong into whatever clusters of chem-addled psychopaths she can find and devolving into a blur of cacaphonous supersonic impacts. Only once those distortions become visible on the AR feed does she stop, pulsing the blood off of her with a brief wash of her field. "Are you able to acquire the additional contacts?" she asks plainly.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
They didn't save them all but they saved two of them thanks to Rory and that's something. She'll likely see about what can be done for the maimed trooper but for now she's focusing on the fight at hand. The Fiends hopefully can be culled faster than they can breed or recruit more people. Though she has to wonder /how/ a group like that /gets/ people. She doesn't want to know the more she thinks about it.

<<Copy that Blackout.>>

She's doing what she can now to turn her attention to back up help Alexis but now she catches some of the horror show. She is however not focusing there as Alexis has that, she's panning about to try and see if she can get a lead on where there might be more friends.

<<Hey if these guys are organized even a bit? Wouldn't they have a lair or a base somewhere?">>.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
A bit of a funny feeling reaches Alexis, as her optics and HUD switch to thermo-optic scanning. Narrowing her eyes, she takes a sharp eye off the roads for a moment, detecting flickers of light being bent. "Shit."

"Guys, we got a problem. Seems they got stealth troopers here too, watch for shimmers." She says over comms, before taking aim at the shapes.

Her cloak activates again, covering her entirely in the cloak's functions.

After a pause, she takes the shot at one of the Stealth Boy Fiends, before she speaks again.

"Blackout, Rory, can you two swap to thermal imaging? We got cloaked hostiles in need of painting." their respective comms will pick up.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    EYES IN THE SKY:

The sudden movements of the Fiends shows... they're moving back towards a particularly large crumbled building. An office tower of some sort that, now that's you're looking at it, appears to have been barricaded off a bit more than the rest of the area. If by barricades you mean 'cars pulled in to block roads' and 'spiky shit on the walls'.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade is going to make a show of this. But aggressively. "GO! RUN! SCREAM!" She cries out, hissing and roaring at the Fiends. "GO! Get strongest fightersss! You kill Floran?! No! You die or you run!" Ripping off another arm and brandishing it after she bites out of it briefly, she waves it at the Fiends. "FLORAN CHALLENGE FIENDS! LEADERS! SSSTUPID TORSSSO THAT THINK THEY'RE BADASSSSES! NEPHI, COOK, VIOLET, DON'T CARE! Floran have more guts than ALL!" And then Biteblade's right off again, blasting over the south vegas area, still regenerating and still drugged up as hell. They'll be trying to cut their way towards a certain general area: Anywhere that Rory White and Blackout can locate that seems to be the center of movement for the tribal looters. Where are they stashing? They might be easy for the stealth combatants to find, though...

The rest of the Starbound Flotilla continues to try to keep the pace, but more cautiously. George appears to have constructed a haphazard FLAMETHROWER of some kind, and will make an effort to smoke out any flickering shimmering or anything like that. The best way to locate them is to light them on fire. Pavo, for her part, has probably just stolen the cash to cover the meds, and left a very nice note. Seft has split off from the squad (now cut down to four) to TELEPORT away with one soldier in each arm to Rory's ship, turning into a crimson streak that flies up into the sky.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Juno's fingers fly over the consoles and input keys, clicking and nearly blurring. The Rogue Shadow's systems respond obediently; swift enough to make her smile in spite of the situation. It looks like the ship wasn't quite as bad off as she had thought.

[Copy that, Maaka. Shifting to thermal imagery.]

She squints at the displays, as much because her eyes are still tired as much as to be absolutely certain of what she's seeing.

[They're falling back to some sort of structure. It's large, possibly a tower, although it looks as though they've barricaded it off from the surrounding area. The barricades are mostly heavy debris. Vehicles of some kind, and whatever else they could find, presumably. I'd approach with caution. There's bound to be more of them inside.]

She frowns, finger tapping restlessly on the console's edge.

[I don't like it. Be careful.]

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @Kotone, Maaka:

The two will hear the very disconcerting sound of a bullet whizzing between the two of them. A formerly invisible Fiend splatters forward, the steathboy on her hip sputtering out.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Alexis pauses after she takes her shot, and she narrows her eyes as she notices the barricades up ahead.

"And they got barricades. This keeps getting better." She growls, slinging her rifle in exchange for something else.

She produces an M79 grenade launcher, loading the weapon with an HE round before she takes aim with the leaf sights.

Ker-thump. The grenade is sent hurdling towards one of the cars stacked up, before she loads the weapon with a different sort of round.

She gets out a pair of shells, one is White-Phosphorous, the other is tear gas. She narrows her eyes for a moment before she decides against the former, radio chatter reminding her of restraint.

An anti-materiel round jars her for a moment, as a stealthed raider slumps at her feet, gore everywhere from the .50 caliber round having reduced the Fiend to a state resembling a blood sausage.

"Fuck me, I'm going soft." growls Maaka, before she loads up a tear gas round to take aim towards the barricades. It ought to throw the guys dug in there into disarray, in addition to the hole made previously.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @FORWARD TEAM:
The sniper teams might need to move forward a bit as Biteblade and the rest start moving in towards the barricaded office block. Also because they've been spotted and no one likes snipers. There's clattering along the fire escapes down below as more Fiends under steathboys seem to be trying to flank them.

Biteblade and the group heading in will spot only scattered resistance of the Most Drugged Up Bastards whipping around corners with Heavy Objects and Laser Rifles. Ambushes, clumsy once at that. They will however eventually start to spot people up in the windows of the Office Park, as well as...

There is a very large man in one of the windows, wearing what appears to be parts of road signs, pots and pans, baking gear and other household materials as heavy armor. Also the giant flamethrower on his back. "YOU LOT GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY TOWN! YOU ISN'T WELCOME. UNLESS YOU WANT TO STAY FOR DINNER! GWAAAHHAAHAAAHHAAAAA."

    COOK-COOK

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Up in orbit, Juno leans forward in her chair, narrowing her eyes as her fingers flit over the console's <span style="color:ontrols.

[cxterm81">It looks like you've got somebody's attention down there. He's not very well-armoured, but it looks as though he's got some manner of incendiary device.</span>]

Tappity-tappity. Sifting through databases on the side while she keeps up a display of lifesigns, topography, and other useful information, she narrows her eyes further, frowning.

[I'm not seeing any of your cloaking-enabled friends any more, but I suspect you're going to have your hands full with him. I'm reading the same sort of chemistry in his system as the other Fiends. It's likely safe to say that he's not going to feel any pain, and I doubt you'll be able to reason with him at all. Best to... handle him... as quickly as possible.]

If Starkiller were here, this would be easy. He would make an excellent distraction, or maybe tank, and let the others take care of the big guy. Sadly, he is not, and so it's going to have to fall to this team to keep him busy.

[I'll continue to monitor your location for interlopers.]

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
The information that the Fiends are starting to fort up in an office building causes Souji to frown and move with the others. He takes a position on a nearby building as he looks over the movements of the opposition, considering where he should make his entrance. His mobility allows him to support the Flotilla, or perhaps he could use an alternate entrance to engage in a flanking maneuver...

The screaming of Cook-Cook causes Souji to look up, his eyes narrowing as he looks upon the maniac.

He has his own answer for the man's threats. With a hissing sound, Souji spreads his hands outwards, focusing his mind. It looks like he is actually having to put effort into this one, as he slowly draws his hands together, palms opposing each other vertically. There is a churning power that gathers between his hands. Anyone with magical sight can see him channelling a fairly large amount of MP into this.

His voice then cuts through the air with the sound of rumbling thunder. "Thunder-3." He calls out.

The air splits and shatters as a massive thunderbolt cuts down out of a clear Nevada sky, shearing downwards and directed towards a specific point.

Specifically, the man covered in metal objects and howling at them, leaning out of the window.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa listens as she notices what Alexis has found, she's now wondering just how dug in these fiends are? She also wonders where did they get all those energy weapons? She seriously does wonder that at this point. She also got her cloak back up again, and she's making ready for the next move. However she gets warned that she needs to scatter. Scatter the cyborg girk doies as she leaps, only leaving a faint blurr of motion to get the hell out of dodge and try to link up with the others.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade is still regenerating. Clumsy ambushes cut into her regen rate heavily, meaning she needs to eat more flesh. Eating more flesh means they consume more of the potent cocktail. By the time they're to the crumbling office building, they're in a complete frenzy. "YOU! YOU THINK SSSALAD FOR DINNER, MOTHERFUCKER? COOKED VEGGIESSS? NO!" Biteblade is just OUTRUNNING the flanking stealthboys, but they might not stay outran for long... "DINNER ISSS GONNA BE SSSTUPID COOK TORSSSO." She leaps onto one of the cars forming a barricade and lands heavily, taking a moment to scream like an animal at Cook Cook.

"COME DOWN, FIGHT FLORAN! OR ARE YOU COWARD, TOO PISSSTIL TO FIGHT!?" The screaming will give the cloakers a bit of time to catch up. Biteblade does intend to get into cover behind the car she's on top of if, or rather when, all those dudes in the windows get the bright idea to attack properly.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Reaching up, Juno slowly unclasps the clip that holds her hair together in tis French twist; her eyes are riveted to the displays, and she watches every move of the party's progress. Distracted, she brings the clip down, only to stop and put it into the corner of her mouth to rapid-fire tap out another series of commands; grimacing around it as her attention flicks between the pilot and co-pilot consoles.

And then she jerks forward in her chair, staring as there is, quite suddenly, an electrical storm in the vicinity of what should have been Cook-Cook.

[I'm reading electromagnetic disturbance from your location. Are you all alright? Lifesigns are reading normal, but--]

Another series of rapid-fire commands, and she scans over the data again, frowning.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Given the fact the Fiends have guys sneaking up on herself and Kotone, Alexis takes the hint and /fast./ She immediately tucks the grenade launcher across her back again, before she takes off in a sprint. Her cloak activates again as she draws a .45 TRP. Nearing the office building, the cyborg begins to see the most heavily armed and armored of the bunch here. "Hoo boy, this is a thing."

Her sidearm is holstered again in favor of the FAL rifle.

The grenade launcher would be a dumb idea, but.

    Cook-Cook has a big-Nevermind!

Thunder from Souji should deal with that, slightly disrupting her software from enviromental interference. Taking a second to reboot herself, Maaka has a chance to go sniping again as she re-cloaks and begins to take aim at one of the more heavily armored Fiends. Their armor would make a lesser round useless, BUT.

Alexis has 7.62 NATO, with steel-cores. Something custom made by herself, usable only thanks to the heavy barrel she has installed on the FAL. The rifle barks as it goes for the head of one of the armored Fiends, ignoring Cook-Cook for now. Thankfully too, as she didn't bring a magazine loaded with tracers for this one.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @THE FORT:

Now you've done it. Biteblade is howling mad, madder than any of the Fiends have ever gotten before. 200% mad. All the way mad. Cook Cook howls right back and chortles. "SORRY THERE PATIENT ZERO, BUT WE AIN'T THAT DUMB. GET EM BOYS."
He's just about to lean back inside when that lightning bolt swats him out of the sky, and he tumbles inside the park and out of view.

And that is right about the time that an entire squad of Fiends armed with various energy weapons come boiling up at the windows and opening fire on everyone and everything on this side of the fort. Just as fiends start to swarm in from all sides.

Well, all of that and a Courier. There's a hiss and SWAT noise as Johnny comes running up behind George and Albert, carrying his Big Fuckin' Energy Axe in one hand and a half dead Fiend-dude in the other by an ankle. "Sorry got held up in traffic, did I miss anything? I brought more food for Bite."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
That's a whole lot of Fiends that are charging in. Nobody will notice if one gets yanked out from between two burnt out cars. The SPARTAN fades back into view as her combat knife plunges into the man's bare chest, knowing right where to strike to make it quick and relatively painless.

She reaches down and grabs the hatchet he had been carrying out of his hand before it hits the ground and drops him, as she steps out from her ambush point and throws her left arm up to catch one of the charging Fiends with a clothes line.

Crashing throat first into an armored SPARTAN arm will probably make for a bad day, but not as bad a day as when she stomps the woman with an armored boot.

Noble Six is trying to draw aggro away from the others, probably why she's waist deep in the middle of the Fiends at this point. That hatchet from earlier goes flying, trying to implant itself into another one of the hopped up maniac's head.

"Come on you drugged up sons of bitches. Come and get some."

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Up above, Juno is dilligently manning her scanners, sensors, and other equipment to make sure that the ground party doesn't find themselves smeared in a ten-kilometer spread across the New Vegas landscape. Also she's watching the way these people work with a slightly disbelieving air. The sheer level of destruction these people can mete out reminds her very much of Starkiller on a tear.

[I've lost the large Fiend on sensors, but stay alert. I'm not certain he's out of the game and--watch yourselves, I'm picking up a very large number of Fiends opening fire.]

Leaning over, Juno flicks a few switches, and her fingers veritably dance across the console keys.

[I'm not picking up any of the cloaked Fiends, at the very least. What you see is what you get.]

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
The swarm of Starbounders have pulled through the mass of Fiends and Stealth Fiends after some time. Albert's the one who gets here first: He's quite insistant on making sure his ally doesn't get left in the lurch here. "Biteblade! Down!" He calls out. The still-screaming tribal gets yanked down by the monkeyman right as they're opening fire, sustaining heavy damage.

He spends some time yelling at them to calm themselves. They do so, not much, but enough to give an aggressive greeting to Johnny, and yank the meal out of his hands. "Thank." Biteblade says, simply, before chowing down intensely. Ideally, Johnny's in cover behind the car like they are, when Albert says, "Now, we move. Biteblade, assist me."

Biteblade wolfs down the entire meal to get a HUGE boost in energy and to partially heal up from the damage sustained from the massive volley. Albert limbers his shoulders briefly. Both reach under the edge of the car, flip it onto its side, and begin shoving it forward. It will reach sufficient speed that it may hopefully slam through additional barricades, spikes, and the walls of the fort itself. Ideally, it will be adequate shielding for those advancing. Someone should JOIN their advance! Or maybe Johnny can cover them! Otherwise those Fiends flanking from the side are going to have a lot of openings to damage Albert and Biteblade!

Zwei (596) has posed:
Zwei doesn't even know what to make of cook-cook. It looks down at him with nothing less than the most intense kind of disdain, with only the faintest sense of dark curiosity to accompany that overwhelming feeling. There's nothing to be said to a coked-up degenerate or his slavering band of evolutionary dead-ends, and so Weiss has no words for him or for them. Seeing the sheer number of Fiends assembled, she refrains from diving straight into the fray, stepping behind one of the barricades as the laser fire showers down upon her.

Using Rory's drone network and her own deep penetration scanners, she marks her targets through the barrier providing her cover, wiring their precise coordinates into the baseball sized casing of interlocking black metal suddenly in her hand. Back to the wall, she lobs the device into the air with a lightning fast upswing, sending it hurtling into the sky and up out of view, where a moment later it turns into a spark of light on the horizon. The next instant, a vertiable hail of precisely calculated raiser bolts streak down from the heavens, refracted into a wide, shrapnel-like spray where each piece is individually aimed for someone's chest, and will turn their target into an explosion of red steam on impact. Cook-cook himself isn't on the target list. She expects something.

Rory White (673) has posed:
One of the treaded robots is with the forward team even while Rory herself is taking shelter behind the scraps of a van! She has four separate copies of her trains of thought running and they're doing a fine job of managing her brigade of sensory robots. The aerial drones swoop over the ruined office building and peg it with a thick coating of SENSOR SCANS while she maneuvers five of her laser ground drones into a pentagon formation... and jams the sixth.

This last one VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMS across the debris-strewn ground and joins the battle against Cook-Cook...

No doubt, she's saving an XP of this to send to her Argonaut friends.

And they'll be as disgusted as she is.

    Except that one Neo-Parrot uplift.

    He'd probably cheer.

The machine answers Cook-Cook's provations by UNFOLDING in place. The robot's torso seems to come apart, panels unfolding and arms telescoping out and straightening into all manner of strange tools and attachments... including several barrels of some kind, and a pair of seeker micromissile launchers.

For some inscrutable reason, a 'jacob's ladder' pair of antenna have been attached to the head, sizzling with electricity. Probably just for show.

    Maybe Rory thinks that's intimidating.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is worried about Alexis but she has to keep moving and make to go after Cook-Cook, also she also keep moving with her own SMS she's cloaking and moving to support Alexis in bringing down Cook-Cook. These guys got to go and if they take them down it should hurt the fiends moral. Well for those not drugged out enough to notice.

She moves in just as the ambush starts and oh god there's laser.

Her Optic cameo helps a bit to break up her profile but damn with how she's moving? While it helps to make her a harder target she can be spotted, she opens fire trying to take down some of the laser using fiends and is trying to push her body for all it can do now. She does want to get up higher but right now she's too bogged down, however the girl can move it, right now. She's a far cry from what she was a year or so ago.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
The air is FILLED with lasers, a ridiculous amount no less, and Alexis can't really seem to stay down long enough to snipe anymore. She makes a run for it as she bounds across another inch of space between roofs, but she's unable to make this leap. Slamming into the side of the building, she grabs a fire escape ladder, or what's left of it, narrowly avoiding a fall before she mantles the ledge.

Her rifle fires off as the cyborg decloaks, now that stealth is more or less useless, then pops smoke to conceal herself while letting off as much from the mag as she can, taking advantage of the target-rich enviroment.

Her mag goes dry, and instead of reloading, she does something a tad stupid, but less likely to get her hit with lazors.

Legs coil up, and Alexis makes a leap off the side of the roof, aiming her descent to hopefully squash a Fiend on her way down as she draws her HF Blade in one hand, and the other draws a .45 TRP pistol.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
No one ever really informed the fiends as to what they were about to get into here. All they knew was that thre were people out there killing them instead of the other way around, that they dind't like that, and that there needed to be retribution. Until the assholes came right totheir crib. This is going south.

Sure, they may be landing plenty of hits out there, and those Fiends on the ground aren't dying as fast as they might be, but There's Still Blood.

They aren't a fan of the car being used as cover, and there's a concerted effort to try and light it up but the heavy metal is too much for the antipersonnel lasers.
Johnny and Noble are making big imposing targets to be sure, but one of them is currently carving up Fiends and beating them with her Spartan Suit, while the other is stomping int othe way of people attemtping to flank Albert and Biteblade, that Protonic Inversion Axe Flashing.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
Kotone and Rory and Alexis are getting stuck in too now for various levels of Stuck In.
Alexis manages to stomp one of the fiends like a goomba, but there's still the matter of like three more closing in on her. That's gotta get handled.
Rory will find that her drones are being picked off one by one as they make valiant efforts to assault the fortified position of the Fiends, even as the Beefy Drone looks scary! OOOOOO.

Kotone is even putting in good work, as the attacks start to lessen. There's fewer Fiending in the window, but why does this feel like the calm before the storm?

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Up above, Juno shifts uncomfortably in the pilot's seat, tucking one foot under herself and chewing absently on the end of her metal hair pin, watching the goings-on with some muted alarm. These people are insane, she's fairly well convinced, or at the very least they've got an incredible aptitude for meteing out destruction and death.

Kinda like somebody else she knows...

[It looks as though their numbers are beginning to thin out a bit.]

Juno leans sideways and flicks a few more swithces over the co-pilot's station, eyeing the displays and ensuring that there aren't any more cloaked Fiends lying in wait for the group below.

[I think your presence is having a definite effect on Fiend morale, if nothing else. The big one you took care of must have been a leader of some kind. I think you've definitely had an effect on their morale.]

Sarcasm, any? You bet<span style="color:ha.

cxterm81">For the moment, though, the remainder are entrenched. You're going to have to figure out some way through.</span>]

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
After they get past a certain point -- thanking Noble Six and Johnny as they do, and as George and Moonfin manage to get caught up here -- things slow down. Biteblade runs out of surplus energy, falling with some exhaustion for a moment, while Albert grunts heavily. "Now, get ready to breach!" He calls out to his allies.

He draws his massive POWER HAMMER from his Matter Manipulator. "Necessary collateral damage, Courier. This will break their morale further." He assures Johnny, before winding up and slamming the thing in an upward strike. The energized explosion goes off with a massive shockwave, and should be enough to launch the car into the structure with a massive upswinging strike. The force should be enough to LAUNCH the vehicle through the air, and slam it into the structure, ideally forming a wide breach. Ideally because Biteblade, George, Moonfin, and Albert will all be trying to scramble inside and start their murder anew this way. Biteblade hopes to dash their way to the upper levels, screaming bloody murder. "FLORAN EAT CANNED FOOD TOO! FIRSSST YOU OPEN CAN! FLORAN DONE WITH SSSTEP ONE NOW! THEN YOU BITE AND BITE AND BITE!" They scream. Their enthusiasm seems to have returned, though there's a palpable sense of exhaustion. Those drugs are hell on the Floran.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Boots suddenly plow into one of the fiends, and Alexis barely manages to stick the landing as she coils up. Her blade blocks the blow of one of the fiends, provided they are using some sort of melee weapon, while she levels the .45 and fires twice into the head of another Fiend. A whirring is heard, as Alexis aims her right fist at the third Fiend.

Some sort of weapon emerges from her wrist, and her build-in Direct-Energy Shotgun blasts away at the Fiend point-blank in the chest. This is going to hurt like /hell/, if not make a mess of things.

She follows along with Bite, Albert, Moon, and George as they rush the place. "Gents." And her pistol blazes away at the Fiends coming out to greet them.

Rory White (673) has posed:
Three of Rory's Pentagon formation drones spark and sizzle when struck by bullets in the right places. The majority spang off and leave horrific gouge marks - although heavily armed, they're not thickly armored. Nor is Rory's first combat model exactly well proven in the field.

This is its first field test after all.

Three stagger and appear to go inactive, sparks flying from joints.

One, however, is just playing dead.

Rory has anticipated Biteblade's manuever, however, and decides to assist in her own way.

Her remaining three robots all aim at the uppermost levels. The Seeker Micromissile ports open up and--

    *SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!*

... When the HELL do mini-missiles make SONIC BOOMS?!

Apparently, they do when they're from the future! Becuse each missile launcher is a railgun, and each tiny missile is propelled by a scramjet. they ripple through the air and crash through windows and barricades, making an AWFUl racket but they're aimed to not strike the superstructure. It'll be messy up there, but the effect Rory hopes to do?

Force people to run away from the assault, take shelter, and head for the lower floors.

Drive them straight into the starbounders, basically.

Zwei (596) has posed:
No sense staying on the outside and getting bogged down in a protracted gunfight. The others seem to have that particular portion of gratuitous violence well covered. Instead, Weiss follows after the Starbound crew, having a vested interest in seeing them alive well into the future. It's possible they might not actually need her help, but it's best to be certain. Taking advantage of the provided breach, she vaults over the now thoroughly melted remainder of the barricade and sprints across the intervening distance, leaping into the hole at the same time Rory's missiles go off. Attempting to keep up with Biteblade, she directly interposes herself at the point of the formation, using her shields to ward off gunfire and allow the Flotilla to bulldoze through each corridor.

Souji Murasame (627) has posed:
There is a momentary sense of satisfaction as Cook-Cook gets to be on the receiveing end of 1.21 gigawatts of heavenly punishment. Souji takes a moment to recover from the expenditute of MP. He can't casually throw out such attacks, he's no Black Mage. This leaves him open for the response. The lasers scorch past him, several of them trailing black lines across his body as he gets seared. He throws himself off of the building, letting gravity add speed to his movements to avoid getting focus fired down as he gets behind cover. He pulls a vial from his suit, and drinks it, letting he healing liquid from the Potion begin to do its work while he plans for his entrance.

Rory's disruption is the perfect opening. Souji launches himself over the wall and rushes the building, using his Float ability to launch him up the wall and smash through a window near the Flotilla members, dropping in to help flank whatever is in their way.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Hopefully working in consort with Alexis they can do a lot of famage, right? Kotone's not getting out unharmed she's taken several hits. Those hits have done some damage to her and torn into her innards a bit, she has to risk it and dampens her pain receptors to keep moving but this could mean she can do more damage. She's taken a few down. She's checking over her damage readouts hum she should function.

<The big one is a bounty target Blackout, the guy was a cannibal.>

She's processing a lot of data as she moves, also Rory's presence is a bit disconcerting to her. AS the others move to breach she follows Alexis in. She's opening fire as she goes trying to take down which Fiends she can. Every one they drop weakens the band of raiders. Also if other groups hear how they got mauled others might stand up to them or actively hunt them.

"Karma's come due for the fiends."

She's also damn glad that Alexis and her are not alone in this mess.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @INSIDE THE FORT:

Imagine that these jerks have had the time to move shit around and space stuff out and that they've fully fortified this place. That 'tower' on the side was apparently just part of a larger structure, an entire office campus that sprawls across the landscape on the other side. This part is a proper castle of sorts, with places to come up and shoot, as we've all seen. There's plenty of dead and dying Fiends in here, but no sign of Cook Cook just yet.
THose missles overhead flush out several more of the riflemen who go prone on the structure right while a bunch of CQC comes in for a chat. That's not going to end well.

The rest of this place is... camps. Camps and houses that have been gutted and turned into flops and just a bunch of shitty places for druggy fucks to lie around and be twisted.

WELCOME TO HELL, IT'S FULL OF STONERS

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Gladly accepting Kotone's support, Alexis nods to the younger cyborg as they and the Starbounders make their way into the college campus itself. George's warnings about bombs is a good point, as she tries to catch up with Biteblade.

"Dial it back you crazy bastard! We don't know if they even got any traps set up in case of visitors!" She says sharply, sheating her HF blade before she reloads the TRP pistol.

A buttload of fiends make themselves known, the CQC troopers most pressingly of all.

Her TRP Operator takes aim downrange at the melee guys as the cyborg takes off towards them, joining the melee as .45 ACP rounds blazing away when the cyborg begins to brass them up.

"Get up high and support!" She orders Kotone mid-magazines.

Juno Eclipse (428) has posed:
Juno Eclipse absently rolls the hair pin to the other side of her mouth, clutching it between her teeth as she considers the displays. Every so often she pauses long enough to tap out a series of rapid-fire commands, narrowing her eyes as she watches the play of forces below.

Kotone's communications come through a bit grainy, but it's enough for Juno to understand. Her tone of voice suggests she might have turn a bit green around the proverbial gills.

    [Charming.]

She quickly composes herself again.

[It looks like the structure is a compound of some sort, possibly former industrial. It continues to the east for quite a ways, and there are a number of structural advantages to the roof. I imagine the Fiends have the advantage of terrain, here. I'm still not seeing the big one on sensor just yet; it is possible that I have interference from the building itself.

Another rapid-fire series of commands, and she squints at her displays.

[I'm reading a number of smaller structures within the larger one. It looks like shanty-housing or something of the like... hm. Proceed carefully. The locals may not appreciate having their front door kicked in, as it were.]

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade is tearing ass. The Starbounders as a whole may be alright... Pavo more than most, actually, as she filters into the structure sheepishly to pick for loot. George, Moonfin, and Albert are all doing okay; there's some burns and armor damage, but they'll walk it off. Biteblade specifically, though, they're in a constant state of heavy wounding and subsequent regeneration. Which means those prone Fiends getting slaughtered are going to be more food. She's practically covered in blood at this point, and other things it's too tasteless to mention, with both her own blood and her foes'. The appearance of Biteblade hunched over a corpse in this state, devouring something that shouldn't be described for the sake of our readers, is a mildly disturbing one.

There's a nod to Alexis, and they're amping things back up. Cook Cook was on the upper floors. So Biteblade goes there first. Find where he went. Biteblade has the nose of a hunter, and of a scientist. Seek out the SMELL OF IONIZATION. Cook Cook was struck by lightning by SOUJI. This should give him the distinct odor of OZONE. They also likely have a scent of FUEL of some sort. Biteblade intends to track it to its source. And then try to lunge upon the source and stab them repeatedly with their twin power-daggers.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa pushes in on things here, she sees the dying fiends about she keeps moving, there's still mobile ones she's got to worry about at this point. She's moving at fairly high speed, well as much can be in here. She presses in and the horror of it all. She twists her face.

"We need to find and crush the source of the narcotics here."

Kotone notes, as she presses in along side the more experienced cyborgs.

"Keep sharp for people they might have dragged in."

She then moves to get up high and to give what support she can. She takes note of the Starbounders here, however she's going to get to higher ground and lay down cover fire where she can. Hopefully the others will be able to hunt down Cook-cook and end him.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @HOT ON THE TRAIL:

As the breaching crew moves forward, tracking both Juno's information and the excellent nose of Miss Biteblade, they'll see... well. The only Fiends left inside the compund are those too stoned out of their minds to do anything important. There are a number of blood trails leading towards what looking like a parking ramp of some sort, with... a Vault-Tec sign on the side. There's also bright cheery RobCo/Vault-Tec branded posters scattered around, most of them heavily grafittied. But you can make out the amount of advertising of How SpiffyAwesome the Vaults are, and the Low Low (hyperinflated stupid expensive) price of getting in. What price safety, America?

Poor poor Cook Cook though. The swarthy Fiend is still crawling his way towards what is apparently a mustering point, and as the Outworlders approach, her turns and screams and starts spraying the group down with his Incinerator, the globs of boiling napalm attempting to splatter everything.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The energy shields should be able to take the blast from the Incinerator as Noble Six storms forwards towards Cook-Cook, aiming to kick the flame spewing weapon out of his hands, and then pin him to the ground.

She's not going to kill him. Not yet. But she does want to get information out of him, if she can get through his drug and pain addled mind to get the intel she needs.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade gets a face full of napalm. This is INCREDIBLY deadly for a plant. Someone should probably help them out and tank that, and they'll definitely need medical care before this is done now. Their REGENERATION is disabled by this spray of burning substances at the very least purely by proximity and what minor spray gets nearby.

Their screams with, no doubt, turn to a degree of panic and pain, but they're drugged up enough to not stop. THE THING ABOUT NAPALM IS: It doesn't convey a lot of momentum. Biteblade is going to slam through the spray, fall onto Cook Cook, and immediately attempt to grab and devour their shooting arm. This time without even severing it first. Their first reaction here seems to be trying to devour a limb whole from the start of things. They'll be going after eating Cook Cook for some time. Noble Six might be able to hold them off from killing him, and Biteblade won't begrudge her exactly, but right now the only thing on her mind that she can process is "eat this guy's goddamn arms".

The other Starbounders didn't manage to catch up though. They'll be here later, most likely. For now, the savage, screaming, and burning Floran intends to just use brutal tribal wrestling to start eating Cook Cook's arm. Because karma dictates that the man be devoured cannibalistically.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Alexis tries to get cover, her suit managing to withstand the flames somewhat. She came all this way NOT to get roasted, after all. Avoiding the flames at a distance, she checks the magazine on her pistol before she takes the shot in between splorts of fire from Cook-Cook.

Of course, Biteblade handles the most important part of this, as they LEAP through the flames and start to gnaw on the bastard right then and there. "-whoa, kay! No point in letting him suffer, I guess..." She says, before she holsters her sidearm and draws the HF Blade again, the electric current running through its monofilament blade as it unfolds. There are VOOM noises, predictably.

Once Six is done grilling the guy for intel, she will no doubt grab the guy's head and let Biteblade get the rest.

Zwei (596) has posed:
And that someone tanking it would be Weiss. She seems to have shifted from a posture of merciless obliteration to one of careful guardianship now that the Fiends are contained to their own compound where they can't do any damage to the NCR, alleviating the pressure to finish them off quickly. The Armiger interposes herself in the way of the incinerator, allowing the napalm to completely melt through her jacket and exposure bare, featureless skin beneath, fizzling like static where the incendiary gel has stuck. Tearing off the soaked and flaming garment, she blasts the napalm off of her in much the same way she had the blood from earlier. She apparently feels no need to stop Biteblade from consuming the maniac alive. Would Zwei normally object to this? Is it that kind of person or no?

Courier Six (32) has posed:
    @BITEBLADE:
And trotting up behin Biteblade, Johnny sighs as she howls screaming mad over the top of the fallen Fiend, devouring his arm alive while burning alive and...
And Johnny grumps, his Pipboy flashing. Out comes... An ABC fire extinguisher, which he starts hosing down both Cook Cook and Biteblade with, the dusty powderey CO2 laden mist hopefully extinguishing that for the most part.

Cook Cook is screaming and bleeding and also screaming. His arm's gone. Screaming and bleeding, yep.

Starbound Flotilla has posed:
Biteblade just keeps going. Thankfully, due to Weiss tanking, Biteblade doesn't need more than a mild extinguishing. The pain and drugs have reduced them to incoherence, but they should be able to recover once they get some medical attention properly. For now, they're just desperately trying to restart their regeneration with a bit more of Cook Cook.

Holy shit she's really going at it. Eventually she's going to go right to the heart. Just pure karmic retribution for him to be eaten alive. After some time, Albert comes to pull Biteblade away; the EXHAUSTED Floran has reached just about as far as the Floran body can go. Their muscles will simply no longer have the strength to keep pushing. They'll be moving in and out of a state of fitful semi-unconsciousness for some time.

Albert, on the other hand, immediately grabs one of the two dropped POWER DAGGERS. "Killing him now and extracting information from him are not mutually exclusive." He asides to Noble Six. "I have some knowledge of Miniknog interrogation techniques. These do not necessitate anything from the neck down." He swaps the setting on the dagger to a high-powered sawing setting, and begins to work...

With Biteblade in this state, and the generalized exhaustion of the Starbounders, though, they really want to retreat. Moonfin specifically will stay to help clear out the fort, alongside Pavo who wants all the sweet loot, but they don't have the energy to break into that Vault at all.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa has done her points at this, she moves to back up join the others. She doesn't think much about Cook-Cook, the guy was a beast who murdered for kicks and ate people. There was not ending this without violence. She sighed a bit and kept her view on other things. Albert's comment however? Gives more information on the horror of the Minikong.

<<Rory your coming back home with me for a few days. She doesn't want to think anything else. She just needs to get away from this, thankfully they did some good, saved two troopers, also savaged the Fiend's numbers as well. They would have to get inside to finish it but once the nest was gone? IT would be a matter of finding their suppliers and dealing with them.

"...This was worse than I even thought, Alexis...I start to wonder if I'm cut out for work like this..."

Rory White (673) has posed:
Fire suppression isn't a feature for Rory's drones. She's making a note of this fot the future however, make no mistake!

Now down to two drones on the ground in auto-mode but retaining an eye in the sky, she has set to having the two remaining assault drones roam in hunter-killer mode, guided by the Saucers.

If there are any Fiends who aren't in the main defensive positions - any hiding in strange places for instance, they're going to get a ruuuuuude awakening indeed.

Meanwhile, the real Rory, still in her van, finally leaves it and... kicks the vehicle hard!

It skids a good couple of yards.

The Hulk she is not, but that suit and her robotic body are much stronger than they look.

    Her one weapon?

Well, she extends a hand and some of the suit's upper parts unfold. A combination of nanites and self-assembling materials rapidly snap into position for a RAILGUN. Her eyes shift modes, the irises swiveling, spinning, and enlarging rather weirdly...

    FEWT!

Nearly silent death flies everywhere, piercing walls cleanly with tiny railgun rounds.

She doesn't personally go for any of the Fiends who are clearly in a drug-stupor and flat on the floor.

The roaming Search and Destroy robots that she's overseeing won't use lethal force on them either, but they WILL launch gobs of restraining foam.

    Foam that hardens like cement.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
There isn't much in the way of resistance from any of the fiends in the campus any more. Everyone able bodied seems to have retreated into the safety of... 'their' Vault.

There's little Cook Cook can do to stop what's coming, the man dismembered while mostly alive, something that so many of his victims had suffered over the years, brought back to bear on the horrible man. The last indignity, is the removal of his head for... extremely enhanced interrogation.

And further down along the surface of the car park, just around the next bend... is something that could chill even the most cold hearted among the group.

The massive door of Vault 3, sitting there in the open, with Fiend graffiti and tags and signs and everything coating the entrance. Scattered all around, on display like trophies, are the bloody and ruined Vault Suits of Vault Three, hung out like crucifixions in the setting sun. The door the Vault lies shut.

Courier Six (32) has posed:
NEXT TIME, ON NEW VEGAS ADVENTURES

A lifting crane shot of the Vault 3 Campus. Veronica's Voice! "Once it was one of the few good places for people to live in the Mojave. Maybe it could have been more."

Blood and drugs and awful things inside the main entrance to the Vault, the Syndicate fighting out an entrenched band of Fiends. "And just maybe it can be once again."

A man wearing a Brahmin skull sitting on a throne flanked by dogs, Fiends and women. "All it's going to take is a little bit of Spring Cleaning, that's all."
