- Duke has posed:
After the battle with Beelzebumon, anyone watching the skies may catch a glimpse of something, before a ducked down below the trees and there was several flickers of light including the fleeing of some local wildlife, along with the running of birds.
It had maybe been only a few hours after that and a storm was threatening to roll into the area. A small four foot red dino-dragon of a digimon--- a 'Raptor' as Alexis liked to call him, found several tree roots of a massive jungle to hide under for shelter.
His body shivering from the lower energy reserve left from the fight and some data damage to his side, along with little bit of damage on other locations, like bruises really. However the loud rumble of thunder in distance followed by the heavy display of crackling lightning, made him tuck in more under the roots. The Guilmon X's ear fins pulling back in some concern.
Surviving out the wind, while yes--- Doran taught him some things, was still never his strong suit. He had to be crazy for thinking this was a smart idea. Running like that, but if they knew...
- Golden (782) has posed:
The smell of cooking meat can be smelled wafting through the jungle nearby. The rain keeps Golden from noticing the raptor though. Instead he's cooking the meat plants that Groot force-grew earlier in the day over a crackling fire made atop a fallen slab of some jungle rock or another, with a canopy made of cured leather keeping the rain out of Golden's way. The batter old Multiversal radio blares once in awhile as it scans frequencies for anything interesting. It was definitely time to abandon the Ham Tree and the temple fragment since Groot and Rocket had found him there.
Golden eyes the radio as it stops on a weather frequency and blares out about thunderstorms and great sheets of rain for the next eight hours or so and that this was normal for some parts of the Great Jungle. "Yeah yeah, I'm sitting right in the middle of it." He grumbles as he checks a meat hunk for doneness.
- Duke has posed:
The smell of food does reach the small Child Digimon's nostrils as they flare a bit as he sniffs the air. Those gold eyes then look in the direction, before he uses his claws to dig around in the soft dirt to stick his snout out under the roots to get another sniff of the air-- following the source. "...Meat?" Duke asked to himself, before he moved some of the dirt aside to stick his head out, his ear fins moving up a bit as he then squints his gold eyes, looking for the source.
Only to wrinkle his snout as a water droplet lands there. He glares up at the sky in mild annoyance and perhaps protest. Once it starts to rain, he could lose the scent! The trail would go cold! Cause truth is, where there is good, there may be better shelter... and possibly people.
Possibly warmth.
Though with a grunt, ignoring the protest of his tired body, the Guilmon X started to make his way for the source. His feet easily moving over the brush and over the dirt paths. Rain droplets tapping next to him as it hits the dirt ground, the leaves, and even taps over his shoulder and tail.
It would not be long till he finds the source of the smell, along with the burning fire. His gold eyes study the structure, before he moves around the edge of the perimeter, his red body horrible camouflage for this type of environment, so he tries to stay low, almost down on his dirty white belly.
The sound of rustling of leave may catch Golden's attention, maybe even a snap of a twig, before silence again, then maybe a few more rustlings. Something was out there, but staying out of sight, at least though, unless his eyes were quick enough--- he may catch an momentary glimpse of a red tail with a black tip.
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden grumbles as he catches a glimpse of something moving. "Freaking jungle cats..."
"Hey, if you're a tiger, you'd better get going or we're gonna have a duel of claws..." Except that's not the tail of a jungle cat. It looks like a guilmon tail. Maybe. It's been a really long time. Golden peers towards where the bushes are. "But if you're a guilmon, maybe you're cold and hungry?" He says cautiously.
- Duke has posed:
The movement stopped when Golden spoke up, there was long silence, even as another thunder boom roared over the jungle causing some howler monkeys in the distance to hoot and holler. Slowly though the red dino stepped out, as he pushed aside the brush. He was a bit dirty and it was easy to see some of the pixalated damage on his upper arm, along with 'bruise' marks on the shoulders.
Look like he had been in a fight. Those gold eyes studied the Digimon before him, taking in the details, much like Golden may realize he wasn't looking at a normal Guilmon-- but an X version. Though after the war and what had happened, running into X Digimon was probably not unheard of. After all--- many gained X-Antibodies to survive.
The four foot lizard slowly made his way out and cautiously made his approach. One foot in front of the other, with his long clawed paw hands down. His tail almost dragging along the ground with his ear fins back in concern.
Even as a few water droplets ran down over his form as the rain started to pick up a bit, he didn't come fully toward the other Digimon. After all, the Exiles had no order, no leaders. Groups either worked together, worked alone, and others started to get into much darker ends of the deal. Given the Demon Lords were no longer together, leaving their once soldiers to go off with the rest of the Exiles.
- Golden (782) has posed:
"What's the matter? Got into a scuffle with a tentomon or something? Maybe it was a tiger, huh? Monkeys fling their poop at you like a sukamon?" Golden says, noting the condition of the Guilmon X. He'd certainly seen a lot of X-Antibody digimon during the later stages of the war. He wasn't one of them though, despite his very strange appearance for a MetalMamemon. Then there's that Crest of Courage sitting on the forehead, sticking out like a sore thumb. Little details that don't add up, as if the MetalMamemon used to be something different. Something was definitely wrong with this digimon, given the strange damage he shows.
A thunderstrike glitches the MetalMamemon's form momentarily, replacing him with a low-resolution pixelated for that brief moment the electrical pulse washes over him. "Man..." He says as his voice fritzes and stutters from the after-effects even as the thunder rolls over the two digimon. "...I really don't like lightning. Get in here and dry off before you drown in the mud, kid."
- Duke has posed:
The Guilmon X tilts his head as the MetalMamemon asks him what he got in a truffle with, but doesn't answer. The voice sounds familiar to him--- the same one who hated the Demon Lords and Royal Knights? Maybe.
Though he watches the strange damage and causes his eye ridges to crease for a moment, before he hops on in with a few quick steps, ducking under for the cover and looking up what Golden was using for a shelter. He shakes his body a bit, before shaking the mud off his feet, though /far/ away from Golden or the fire. Seeming to take care of where he shakes and how he does so.
The Guilmon X then looks at the meat on the fire, those gold eyes examining it, before they look to the MetalMamemon, now closer together in the shelter. The Digimon may see it or not depending on how observant he was. Though the eyes have that child-like gleam, there was something older about them, something far wiser deeper down in those eyes.
Duke at last spoke up as he crouches down, watching the fire. Though his voice was soft, tired really. "...Thanks... and don't want to talk about it really."
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden pffts as he passes a cooked hunk of meat to Duke. "Like I don't know already." He gestures to the radio, which is currently stuck on some advertisement about luxury grav-cars. "You were the one talking about beating up Beelzbumon earlier. At least I'm pretty sure it was you, unless you got a twin or something."
He lets a moment of silence pass before putting another gnarled old branch on the fire. "Digimon in this world call me Golden. Three guesses why and the first two don't count." He finally says as he pokes the fire with a slightly bent metal rod that may have been pried loose from a fence.
- Duke has posed:
The Guilmon X takes the meat when offered and chomps it down, but his bites were slow--- oh he wanted to just scuff it down, but he knew better. Not out in the wild like this. Those gold eyes watch the fire for a bit, as the embers almost cast a flicker of a few memories that don't make sense to him which he shakes off.
"Golden." Duke says back and mms. "I--- was the one on the radio, yeah." He then takes another bite of the meat with his sharp teeth, tearing at the cooked morsel of food. "I wont take guesses, as if you want to tell me, you will." He says with a soft smile, before he pokes at the meat with one of his long claws. "They call me Duke--- my friends did. Probably not the best talking partner. Don't remember much." The Guilmon X admits openly and freely.
"I don't even really remember home." The Guilmon X also admits as he goes to take another bite of the meat, "...but its slowly coming back to me." Those gold eyes stare at the fire. "...what about you?" He asks looking to the 'older' Digimon, a smile on his face as he tries to change his mood-- how typical of a child really right? "You seem pretty well off!"
Ignoring the data damage and the crest--- which did cause Duke to stare at it for a moment as he looks over, but his eyes go back to the fire.
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden ehs... "Believe me you aren't missing much by not remembering it. It was pretty bad at the end. Skies were choked black with DexDorugamon. If you didn't get the X-Antibody, you were either dead or ended up really messed up like me. And believe me, the ones who survived the X Program were the really strong and tough ones. Lots of dead heroes too, most of 'em dying to buy time for others to escape through the warp gates to here."
Golden falls silent for a moment, looking at the fire. "If I talked about what I did during the war, then everybody would know who I am, look at me now and only see a monument to all my failures. I just wander this multiverse, occasionally finding pieces of the old Digital World."
Golden reaches over and grabs the remnants of the meat from Duke, meaning the bone. "I need this to grow more. The big tree guy saved me a week of waiting, so I'm thinking these might grow faster now."
- Duke has posed:
Duke finishes what was left of the meat, while listening to what Golden had to say. There was some sympathy in those eyes of his. As if a deeper understanding then was he was ever going to say. After all, how could he say it--- he still didn't really believe it himself. Even though it was staring him in the face--- maybe--- maybe they were confusing their Dukemons... there had to be others right? Right?!
His mind snaps back to the now as Golden takes the meat bone from him. "Find... remains?" Duke asks with a slow blink and lowering of his head, those ear fins tucking back. "Mm." He then huffs out a bit of smoke from his nostrils in idle thought really, before he look back to Golden. "I wont ask for more details but," The Guilmon X tilts his head. "You know how to grow trees? Were you a farmer?"
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden nahs. "I was stationed all over when working for Jupitermon. The war hadn't started, so I was bored a lot and learned how to farm to help out the villages. Not much to do when bandits and unruly digimon went to ground when they hear a district guard is prowling about. Learned the art of bonsai from a wise old jijimon too." Clearly Golden was not a Royal Knight if he was working for one of the Olympos XII.
Golden scratches his faceplate idly with his claws. "Yeah, I know how to grow meat plants."
- Duke has posed:
"Useful skill to have." Duke admits as he flops over onto his backside, listening to the rain beat down on the ground around them. His white belly really needed some cleaning--he knew that--- but there would be time for that with this rain.
There was a really nasty wound though on his side, enough that it looked like it had bled due to the 'flesh' part of the data and deep enough one could almost make out the martrix lines. Seems the kid was doing a good job at ignoring it-- or survival instinct was just overriding the register of the pain right now.
"I'd help farmers here in the Multiverse pick apples--- maybe--- when you get a meat farm going, I could come help you too!" Duke says looking over with a smile on his muzzle. "Maybe you could even sell some of your meat then and... and get a nice ranch home!"
Duke then looks away closing his eyes. He doesn't seem to pry about Jupitermon or even ask for the details, though he honestly doesn't remember any of it anyways and really-- it didn't matter now. The Digital World they knew was gone.
It wouldn't be long after Duke did lay down though that well-- the young Guilmon X had fallen off to sleep. Though that shouldn't be surprising, though his foot claw only twitched a few times as he snoozed. Active dreamer it looked like, active dreamer and apparently, like all children Digimon-- very trusting; At least... he seemed that way.
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden mutters about kids just nodding off in the middle of a conversation, throws some ivy vines over Duke in some semblance of a blanket, and throws another piece of meat on the fire for roasting.
