Welcome Home to Gridania! ft. N'raha and Bertram
Date of Scene: 30 June 2015
Location: Hydaelyn Reborn <ARR>
Synopsis: N'raha meets a fellow adventurer, gets sound medical device about talking to giant crystals.
Cast of Characters: N'raha Tia, 826

N'raha Tia has posed:
One of the nice things about the Shroud and coming to the Shroud is the Carline Canopy, the Inn/Airship Port in Gridania's newer sections. That's because Mother Mioune runs a tight ship, as it were, the place was friendly and vibrant... but also because no one was bothering N'raha all that much.

Which was nice for him because the young Miq has been having a very fucked up week or two. First contact with the Multiverse and the rather odd collection of people that came to help. His encounter with the Garleans and the... well. That. And then the visions of giant goddamn Crystals coming back to him. It was all enough to make the young miq just wanna curl up back home in his tent in the tribe.

But since that certainly wasn't about to happen, he's settling for a mug of something hot and a pastry and view of the lake as he dangles his feet over a railing and watches the airships float in.

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram is a familiar face in the Gridania's inn, even though he doesn't live in the city. With a big mug of ale, he's settling down on a crate near the railing, looking skywards. With his white robes and mace-like staff, he looks like an adventurer of the magical type, and he raises his mug in greeting towards the Miqo'te. "Good morning." He smiles, and throws back a bit of his drink. "I don't recall seeing you here before. Have I?"

N'raha Tia has posed:
The Seeker miq is certainly not a local, that's for sure. The young fellow's ears twitch a bit before he realizes that, yes, it is him being spoken to. He turns to spot the fellow in the robes and then the sorta blank look on his face is replaced by a cheery smile. "Good morning! No, probably not! I'm not from around here, really." He plants the pastry on its little plate, and turns to lift a slightly sticky hand. "N'raha. Nice to meet you.!"

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"Bertram Silent." The White Mage responds, giving a firm but gently handshake. "My pleasure." He takes another swig, "I'm not really from around here either, but I've been living in the area, at least until Rhalgr shatters the bonds that hold my home." He's talking about Ala Mhigo, and he sounds somewhat solemn. "So, what brings you here, N'raha? Thinking of becoming an adventurer?"

N'raha Tia has posed:
Ala Mhigo. N'raha's face turns very stern at that one, but he settles in. "Yeah. Well, not thinking. I am one! Not.... not like an important one yet, but I'm working on that." The youth's face brightens a bit, and that tail of his swishes. "But yeah, I am gonna be important some day." He's repeating himself. Maybe out of self assurance? Who knows. "But yeah, I'm here waiting for the next batch of leves to get unsealed so I can get some jobs. Just, you know. And waking up."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"If you'll work hard, I'm sure you'll get there." Bertram encourages N'raha, he smiles and looks around. "If you ever need a place to get your wounds taken care of, I have a place in the East Shroud, not too far off from Hawthorne Hut's Aetheryte. I should be there whenever I'm not running errands for Mother Miounne." He grins, clearly he's an adventurer himself. "And if you need any pointers from an experienced adventurer, just ask away."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The miq's ears shoot up. "Ah, we were just over there the other day when the Garleans.... when they showed up to start shooting the wildlife. I mean... it may only be boros and ochus but..." A little darker look crosses the miq's eyes. "But they got taken care of."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"Good. I didn't get the memo until after it was already handled, but the Garleans need to be taken care of whenever we get the opportunity." There's some clear bias against Garleans in his voice, he looks a bit darker when he says it, too. "Glad to hear you helped teach them they're not welcome around here."

N'raha Tia has posed:
N'raha takes a deep breath, before murmuring. "Well we had help. There's a bunch of offworlders who are really interested in being helpful, at least. Or... well. I think they are. They're helping, that's the important part." That tail swishes a bit more as he pulls his legs out of the rail slats and turns to sit faceing the healer. "But from the sounds of it, this might not be the last time they come calling so close."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"Yeah, I heard." Bertram doesn't mention the fact he's joined forces with a bunch of them. "And they won't, these are the people who called down Bahamut because they weren't satisfied with our resistance. Of course they're not going to stop fighting just because they face some adversity. We need to drive them back, not just stop their advance."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The miq shuffles a bit and slumps. "Yeah, well, we'll be ready. I hope." A little bit of a droop in his form before he looks up at the healer. He glances around to see that no one's listening...

"So, I... uh. You're a conjurer and... uh. I got a medical question."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram raises an eyebrow, but asks patiently. "Go ahead and ask." He then puts on his calm, pleasant healer face, putting his ale next to him on the crate to free up his hands should he need to. He's about as unthreatening looking as a man with a weapon like his strapped to his back can be.

N'raha Tia has posed:
The Miq's face grows pensive, but... well, doctors don't spill unless they have to. "Ah, does ochu breath cause hallucinations? I mean... like, I know it'll straight up kill you if you get a full blast of it, but a nice lady made sure I was protected from the worst of it while we were fighting..."

He gnaws on his lip. But after the fight I was seeing things."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"Normally it shouldn't." Bertram sounds pensive as well, and he looks over N'raha, and then asks the ten thousand gil question. "What kind of hallucination are we talking about? Can you tell me if you had clear vision or if it was more strange?" He isn't writing it down at all, so either he has good memory or he isn't interested in remembering the details.

N'raha Tia has posed:
The miq's face slakens a bit again, and... he seems to be judging whether or not to answer that one. That tail swishes more, fitfully.

A deep sigh. "An aetherye, big as the world, and it was talking to me. Or at least, it said a word."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram hears that, and actually smiles. "That's nothing to worry about if you're looking to become an important adventurer." He seems to thoroughly enjoy being cryptic, and he adds on, "See. Feel. Think." Then he grabs his ale again, and swigs. "I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish. Good luck."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The miqo'te's ears lift up a bit at that, and the tail swishes less fitfully. "Oh, uh, if you say so. I mean... okay." N'raha's face looks pensive again. "That wasn't one of the words though. Hear. That's what the quiet loud voice was whispering. It might have been the Aetheryte. I... uh."

Wait. "Wh-wha? What are you talking about? I need to get breathed on to be an important adventurer?"

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"I don't think it has anything to do with the Ochu's breath." Bertram says with a smile, and then adds, "That voice can be pretty cryptic, and let's face it. Hear is pretty similar to those other words, isn't it?" He empties his mug, and sets it down fairly forcefully. "This isn't the first time I hear about something like this, but I'm not an expert on it. Do you mind if I let some people who are know I met someone with a vision like the one you shared? They could tell you more."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The miq's hands tighten a bit on the coffee mug as he fidgets a bit. That tail swish swishes again. "I... if you want, I mena... long as they're not going to come cart me off or something. I just don't wanna get pinched, you know?"

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"They won't, they're good people." Bertram smiles, and then just adds, "If you're not comfortable with it, I won't. Then it'll just be between you and me, but they can help you understand it." He takes a moment of thought, considering what he's about to say. "They helped me understand it."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The young miq's eyes brighten a little bit at the end of that, before he lets out a breath. "Oh, well. That's uh..." He bites his lip. "That's not the first time I'd seen it. I mena, the other time i was half dead and bleeding but..." He rubs at his legs worriedly, glancing over at people moving around them. "I was... I thought I was crazy."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
"You're not." Bertram leaves it at that, and gets up. "If you want to talk to me again, come to my hut. Ask for Bertram Silent in the East Shroud, pretty much everyone can give you directions. It's not hard to find." He looks at the inn, "But I've got things I need to do, and I'd better get to them, it was nice meeting you, N'raha."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The Miq nods and smiles. "Nice to meet you, Bertam... And thanks."
He mmmmhs, and picks up his pastry again, and goes back to looking over the water of the lake.

It is a less fitfull observance now.
