Digimon Assault on Line Ark
Date of Scene: 26 July 2014
Location: Desert Mountains
Synopsis: Dr. Violet Hunter leads an assault to capture technology from Line Ark and its Power Plant, with the help of Kirikou and Kari-Shiba. White Glint defends her home, aided by Sagat and Fayt.
Cast of Characters: 95, 127, 179, 319, 322, 471

White Glint (322) has posed:
The power recycling plant "Megalis" is Line Ark's largest land based asset. Rather than being based out in the middle of the ocean like Line Ark itself is, the power plant is placed past the end of the trans-north-sea bridge, taking in spent fuel from the massive conduit that runs between the former United Kingdom and former Norway. Rather than any kind of oil or gas however, Megalis works with a revolutionary k-particle turbine reactor, taking the newly discovered type of particle stream from Line Ark, recombining it, and sending it back for ten times the efficiency of nuclear fission based power. It is one of the few facilities of its kind, and a perfect example of this particular iteration of earth's unique technology. The amount of energy generated from these "k-particles" is so much higher than any other kind of equivalent kind of power source, an enterprising scientist would have to be crazy not to want it. On top of that, local third parties are paying an absolute fortune for anything recovered from the site.

The site itself however, is nothing much to look at. Though this place was once Norway a few decades ago, now it resembles nothing but an arid, lifeless dust bowl. The once famous seaside cliffs are stained with the colour of rust, and the untouched forests that should be sprawling out to the horizon have been replaced with blowing sand and desert crags. Even the snowfall that should be just starting at this time of year seems to have been muscled out by floating specs of black ash instead, making anything outside of a few miles of the power plant a dangerous place to breathe. Megalis is the only feature for miles; a white spire standing hundreds of storeys tall, surrounded on all sides by a massive, circular solar farm. The facility bristles at ground level with stationary energy cannons, with even larger emplacements out on the cliffs, though its airspace seems to be completely dead.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
Violet has researched Line Ark, and the power plant Megalis. She has heard about the technology of this world. And this place sounds like a perfect target. Within the Digital World, she is working on building her own base of operations. A fortress that will eventually go mobile. The high technology of this world piqued her interest, and so she seeks it, with the aid of her fellow Confederetes.

The military forces present at the city and the power plant would likely detect this on their radar. A large force is approaching. Some aerial, some ground based. It is a strange group of creatures, and unlikely that the people of Line Ark would know that these beings are Digimon. The ground forces consist mostly of Frigimon, snowman like Digimon. About fifty of them. Amongst them are some Kokatorimon, large chicken like Digimon. Thirty of those. The sky forces are definately larger, though, and consist of three types of Digimon. Thirty or so Birdramon, gigantic flaming birds. Thirty or so Kuwagamon, large red beetles. And, thirty or so Airdramon, long limbless blue dragons, with skulls on the upper part of their face.

Violet herself is in the back, standing atop the back of a black leather skinned dragon. Devidramon. Her goggles are on, her labcoat flows in the wind. And she smirks, looking towards the power plant.

The plan? Draw out enemy forces. Study them in combat. Steal whatever pieces of technology from Line Ark and its Power Plant that they can. Destruction is not a major focus in this one, unless it is enemy fighters. After all, they want to get things back in one piece.

Violet is quite looking forward to this all.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
There's an audible crack like thunder and a bolt of purple lightning hits the ground not far from where Violet stands. A few sparks arc off through the air as the arcane current dissipitates, leaving the humanoid fox-woman standing in its wake. "Gee. Cheerful place." Tails swish back and forth in a cluster as she actually looks around the parched landscape, the dusty air, and the contrasting technological looking powerplant in the distance that the hordes are marching towards. Then snaps her fingers and in a poof her mana powered guitar appears for her. "It reminds me of a song, even~" Claws go to the strings like built in picks, and somehow without even having an amplifier visible (it is magic after all) the musical accompiament can be heard.

o/~I'm waking up.. to ash and dust .. I wipe my brow and sweat my rust
I'm breathing in.. the chemicals...

I'm breaking in.. and shaping up.. then checking out on a prison bus.
This is it ... the apocalypse...

I'm waking up! I feel it in my bones... enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age, welcome to the new age, to the new age

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Smash, snatch and grab, beat anything that badly deserves it. Kirikou can get behind such a mission. It's not really his forte, but then he's had to do similar a number of times now as a member of the Confederacy. This particular thing is one in a long line, and he appreciates that it's not just a murder mission. The only things he likes murdering are true monsters, often those in human form.

He doesn't have a dragon to fly on or anything. Kirikou's a more technical guy. He's driving a dune buggy, a four wheeler that's not a whole lot bigger than he is. He's also, compared to the other forces in the assault, nothing particularly exotic or threatening... which of course means he's an object of attention for those who are wary of the unusual. Bombing along at full speed, he whoops up a cry of delight as he drives in alongside the digimon invasion. This is FUN! He'll have to get one of these for himself after this mission's over.

White Glint (322) has posed:
Digimon or not, if the crew stationed at Megalis detect something on radar that isn't one of their own scheduled detachments from Line Ark, asking quetions relating to who it is or where they came from is something that comes second to opening fire. Line Ark hadn't made it this long as an independant state in a League ruled world without being prepared to defend themselves on a hair trigger. Waiting for a radio response on this world could very well spell defeat.

It is for that reason that the distant, shimmering horizon begins to light up; white flashes punctuating the rippling heat haze across the cliffs. High energy signatures close in from practically every angle in a 180 degree arc in front of the horde, but in the moment high velocity shells or plasma rounds would normally be hitting the ground all at once and drowning everything out in a hail of explosions, something entirely different happens. Within a certain proximity of Violet's digital army, the incoming fire splits into hundreds upon thousands of projectiles; streaming out in spiralling walls of energy bullets and laser fire which swiftly blanket half the mesa. A certain amount of Sburb alchemy had replaced the previous artillery emplacements with high power DANMAKU CANNONS, which with the startling lack of cover in such a barrel environment, seem to be more than pulling their own weight.

Sagat (95) has posed:
Somewhat predictably, it's the sudden erupting storm of defensive firepower that gets a certain very large man's attention away from his task of moving parts and supplies.

After being eliminated from the World Martial Arts Tournament, Sagat waited until he'd recovered from his battle with Artorias before striking out into the Multiverse again - there's no real reason for him to lurk around Papaya Island when he could be out training, which he clearly needs to do more of - and he happened across this world, and Line Ark. Even if the net technology level in this world makes his own world look like it's just out of the Industrial Revolution, it seemed like a good enough place to hang around for a while, training and helping out - he may not be 'skilled labor' when it comes to giant robots or advanced technology, but he's a strong back and a willing pair of hands: a fair enough exchange for a place to stay and reasonable food.

So when the power station's defenses come to life and start saturating the surrounding airspace with bullets and beams, Sagat puts down the container he was toting and heads out to Megalis's defensive perimeter, looming over other humans (and being loomed over by ACs, if Megalis has any).

He doesn't stop at the perimeter, though, except to pick up a communicator or something that'll let Line Ark keep track of where he is in the mess out there. His single-eyed gaze sweeps over the sky ... and then Sagat inhales deeply, his chest swelling as he fills his lungs.

"ARE YOU SO COWARDLY AS TO NOT ONLY ATTACK THOSE WHO NEVER PICKED A FIGHT WITH YOU, BUT TO DO SO FROM THE *SKY*?!"

He must not have noticed Kirikou's dune buggy yet. This will, presumably, be rectified in short order.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt had already been here for a little while, doing What else? looking around and offering his services as a trader. Unfortunatly for him, he just HAD to be here on the one day it came under attack. with a Worried frown he pulls his staff off of his back and makes his way towards the frontlines. He may not be mych of a fighter, but he can't jsut up and leave the place to fend for itself.

Besides, he knows some support spells, maybe those would be usefull here.

Kirikou (127) has posed:
No one warned him there'd be danmaku cannons. Kirikou buries the accelerator, racing his buggy forward, letting out a whoop of adrenaline-fueled excitement. He's at the edge of the invaders, naturally, so his buggy won't threaten them or be threatened by them... but the edges provide no real benefit when the attack comes in as hundreds of thousands of little bolts of energy.

There's no chance Kirikou's dune buggy's making it though this. While it's small enough as a vehicle, it's too large and not agile enough to slip through the barrage. It also lacks anything even remotely resembling armor. The little vehicle blows apart in large hunks of sheet metal, reinforced bar stock and smoke.

Also exploding out of the smoke comes Kirikou, metal-clad fists leading as he dives headlong. He'd leapt mere moments before the car was struck, trusting to his own skill and luck and his Weapons to keep him safe. Unlike the dune buggy, he IS small and agile enough to make it through the barrage relatively unscathed. He's also armored too, his gauntlets able to block low-grade danmaku much more readily than a car can.

Rolling as he hits the ground, Kirikou comes up as if the whole thing was planned. Continuing in towards the power station at a jog, he can't help but notice Sagat there. It's ... really hard NOT to notice the Emperor of Muay Thai. Adjusting his course slightly, he moves towards the big man. "Sorry dude, no flying here." he shouts, smirking. "I got no more cars to send me flying any more, so you'll have to make do with me on the ground."

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
The rounds of projectiles come in, exploding at the massive horde of Digimon. The Digimon are torn at and damaged by the projectiles. The Digimon go to work on the defense now, though. That's why the Frigimon are here. Each one of them starts to punch at the ground, causing walls of ice to burst up in front of them. The walls of ice will also provide cover fire for Kari-Shiba and Kirikou. Kirikou gets a bit less defense, though, due to the fact that he's in a buggy and speeding ahead. Don't want the guy to crash, after all.

The Digimon keep moving forward. Violet does get reports from some of those who are showing up closer to the front. Fayt and Sagat are sighted.

At the least, Kirikou is dealing with Sagat.

The Birdramon rush in, getting closer to the power plant. They attack, though not at the plant itself. It's obviously a warning shot, since they're attacking at the ground. Gigantic bursts of flame fly out. Each of the flames actually hold a bit of a meteor inside of them. Some of them even call out the name of the attack: Meteor Wing.

The other flying Digimon stay back, though the ground troop Kokatorimon are starting to rush in like chickens with their heads cut off. Despite their heads not being cut off. And the fact that they're already giant chickens.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
And then there was cannon fire!.. Huh, the place is actually protected. Good thing there's all those Digimon to draw the fire. Or are they Pokemon? She can never really be assed to tell the difference. The guitar disappears as Kari-Shaba rolls a shoulder, and as her tails flick about whisps of purplish miasma can be seen swirling about their tips.

Followed by a *fwoom* and a small burst radiating out on the ground as she magically launches herself into the air, arcing over the digimon front-lines. Cannon fire rings out, shots detonating in the wake as she moves faster than they can track.

The kitsune holds out her arm to one side, mana swirling along its length and into her grasp to form her magic staff. That when she grabs in both hands and raises up, it morphs into a mallet. That then glows with magic to expand to an almost rediculous size as she drops down to bring it crashing on top of one of the turrets, the energy sparking from the impact possible arcing out towards others nearby. And certain to get someone's attention.

Sagat (95) has posed:
Sagat is, as somebody neglected to make note of earlier, wearing a thermal jumpsuit as a concession to how chilly it is in these parts. But that's really not enough to hide his identity - his height still stands out, and if that weren't enough, his bald pate and eyepatch are also clearly visible.

The attacking Digimon aren't coming close enough for him to do a lot to them, although any Kokatorimon who gets close enough is going to get kicked in the neck for good measure. Fortunately for their numbers, Kirikou makes his presence known in short order, and with a scowl and a grunt, the Emperor of Muay Thai advances to meet Kirikou ... with a knee to the solar plexus.

White Glint (322) has posed:
As Sagat arrives at the frontlines, he finds that the ground forces are actually pulling back. Retreating from the main force before it even arrives, without firing a single shot as well, seems awfully strange. Even the handful of AC's designated as perimeter guards are making for the solar farm, diving in through the underground tunnels to defend the entryways rather than stay outside. Flaming chunks of meteor manage to crush cannons under their weight here and there, silencing small portions of the bullet curtains that rake across the advancing horde. A handful of them go up in smoke as Kari's magic races along the underground power lines and blows the capacitors of the cannons adjacent to the one smashed to pieces by her mallet. Despite the majority of them remaining however, the stationary guns cease fire one by one, cutting power and leaving an almost deathly silence as the last bullets fall to earth. For an instant, it appears as if Line Ark is ready to surrender before the battle had even properly begun. Had Doctor Violet's army really been that intimidating?

Then another light comes speeding over the horizon. A glint of the sun reflecting off of something high in the air. Before its own sound even catches up with it, dark contrails of rocket exhaust cut across the sky, spiralling down towards the leading Birdramon and splitting into a swarm of cluster missiles; momentarily obscuring the upper portions of Megalis with a wall of explosions. "This is White Glint's operator." The broadband radio crackles. "You are ordered to stand down /immediately/. Cease your attack on Line Ark territory and leave without casualties. If you persist, we will respond with lethal force." Suddenly, the cannons wind back up again, preparing to renew their barrage.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
As Fayt maeks his way towards the fight, he glances around. Sagat seems to have Kirikou busy, and White glint is dealing with the horde... Who else is here?

    and then Kari takes off.

Right, better distract her! Fayt aims his staff up at Kari. adn says. "force bolt."

A small bolt of glowly kinetic energy fires from Fayts staff, headed right towards the kitsune, just to maek sure though, Fayt actually yells up to her. "HEY! Forget the locals! Your fight's down here!"

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou recognizes the giant kickboxer. They've never met in person but Kirikou's a fight fan, particularly of anyone who uses bare hands or simple weapons. This ought to be fun, or at least simple.

He sees that knee coming, and his fists are typically low for defense. He protects his solar plexus with crossed arms, trying to counter Sagat's powerful knee with both his arms. Even through his block, the kick drives his own gauntlets into his abdomen, knocking him shallowly into the air. He lands on his feet though, legs spread wide, feet skidding on the barren ground. As he skids to a halt, he uncrosses his arms and brings them down to either side, exhaling a sharp HAH that has less to do with humor than with forcing his diaphragm to tighten.

Throughout, he fixes Sagat with an intense glare. Getting up from his low stance, he begins to walk towards the huge man. No rush, not yet, just a slow and steady pace. "I don't take YOUR orders!" he calls out, his voice no doubt not reaching White Glint, but it's good to be defiant anyways. "Besides." he says in more conversational volume, "I got some payback to deliver. With interest." he adds, stepping up the pace and then lunging in with a looping punch. The punch whiffs though, deliberately pulled too tightly to connect. Instead he uses the momentum of the punch to begin a half-spin, bringing up his own knee to slam it hard at Sagat's side, aiming for the soft spot between hip and ribs.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
Kari-Shaba pulls her magic mallet out of the wreckage, shaking a few bits and pieces off the head. Sigh, automated defenses are never really that fun, just a necessity to get out of the way. It's while she's mulling what to smack next that she gets pelted with small energy bolt. She blinks, tails snapping out behind her as she shifts in the direction it came from.

Eyes come to settle on Fayt, and it brings a wicked little smile to her features. "Oooh, you look like you could be tasty~".

She rests the mallet on her shoulder, forming a small ball of violet flame in her other hand, and snapping it out to fling the projectile in Fayt's direction.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
Violet gives her own response over the broadband. Even with the violent attack on the Birdramon, and the series of explosions in the sky, she is not willing to stand down, at all.

The Kokatorimon come in now, while the Frigimon remain somewhat in the back. The Kokatorimon fire lasers out of their eyes. And they are most unusual lasers at that. Whatever they strike gets covered in a layer of stone. It's not super /damaging/, but should hopefully serve to cause some of the cannons and whatnot to have trouble moving.

The Birdramon are moving back, though. A number of them have just outright fallen to the ground, though some are still aflight. The ones on the ground don't quite seem to be bleeding as a normal organism would. Instead, it sort of looks a bit glitchy around where their wounds are.

Violet stays back, still. She's trying to keep an eye out for whoever shot down the Birdramon. Amongst the explosions, it is incredibly hard to see who did it. But the moment they have a line of sight, the attack order will be given.

Sagat (95) has posed:
"Really?" Sagat replies nonchalantly as he catches Kirikou's knee in his cupped palm, stopping the blow before it had any chance to land, hsi arm barely even swaying from the halted impact. "You look more like a waiter than a fighter to me."

He also hadn't tried to tell Kirikou to leave or anything - just called the *entire Confederate force* out on being cowards, then moved to intercept Kirikou. That bit about looking like a waiter was the first thing Sagat has actually said *to* Kirikou directly since their fight started ...

And the Muay Thai fighter may not be making much more conversation, as he attempts to simply grab Kirikou, heft him overhead, and fling him into a cluster of Kokatorimon. At least it'll be a relatively soft landing ... probably.

White Glint (322) has posed:
It's a good thing those cannons are remote operated, because as one after another of them becomes encased in solid stone, it becomes plainly obvious that it would be nearly impossible to retrieve someone stuck inside one of those things. The guns have powerful motors to track fast flying targets, but not so powerful that they can break solid rock, and so those hit are as good as gone for the time being. The others hold their fire for just a few more seconds, before once again the hissing flash of energy weapons discharging sweeps the horizon. The glimmering object high above begins a steep and steady dive, rapidly resolving into a blur of white flame as it draws closer ad an alarming speed.

Just before the second wave of psuedo-danmaku fire sleets across the digimon frontlines, White Glint arrives first; racing ahead of the wall of bullets at an absolutely ridiculous velocity. There is barely a chance to catch even a glimpse of the dove-white mecha frame before it blazes past, carrying a wall of dust and sand sucked into its wake behind it. Strafing over the Kokatorimon on the ground, a straight line of 30mm gatling fire chews twin trails of craters into the rocky earth in the blink of an eye; White Glint's neurally linked computers selecting dozens of potential targets in the blink of an eye. Violet has a better look at the enemy as it circle around behind, preparing for another pass.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
    *FWOOSH!* "AAAAAAA!!!!"

Fayt suddenly stops, drops adn rolls, as the ball fo flames lights him up. Yeah, this... might have been a bad idea. Still, no backing down now. Fayt's staff starts to twist about in an odd manner as he takes aim at Kari again. "Shock bolt."
This time, would find a small bolt of lightening headed her way, Fayt's apparently sticking to the basics for now.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
As the electrical bolt crackles towards her the kitsune holds out her own hand, allowing the arcane current to strike her palm. Arcs scatter from it, sparking up along her arm. Kari-Shaba winces briefly as the burst was actually stronger than she anticipated, but then shifts back to her smug smirk.

She curls her fingers and pulls the lingering sparks away from herself and into her palm, then sends a bolt of electricity hurtling back towards the other mage as she singsongs "Anything you can do, I can do better. I can do anything better than you~~"

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou had been shouting to the voice ordering the Confederates to leave, not to Sagat. His words to Sagat were the ones that weren't shouted. He grins, a bit sheepishly, when Sagat catches his knee. His expression hardens when the warrior smack-talks him though. Fighting at a disadvantage, he can live with that. It's what makes fighting interesting. But getting no respect, that's something he just won't tolerate.

Not that he has much choice but to take it, at least for now. Heaved back into a crowd of Kokatorimon, Kirikou indeed isn't really hurt by the attack. The Kokatorimon, however, may not be quite so lucky. Kirikou looks more annoyed than anything. He leaps to his feet, setting himself down in a crouch, then breaks into a sprinter's run straight back at Sagat.

This time, hopefully, it won't be so easy to think of the boy as a waiter. His sprint is FAST. Not eye-blurringly fast, but definitely not that of an ordinary person. And his right fist begins to gleam with a yellowish-orange light. Not something that sheds actual radiance, just a glow of ki... or in his case, of soul energy.

"Now you got me BURNING MAD!" Kirikou bellows as he charges. He doesn't look mad though. He looks like he's enjoying this. He goes for that looping right punch again, but this time the attack's fast and hard, not pulled in as a feint.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
White Glint takes Violet completely by surprise. She blinks. This thing is definately a class above the other forces here. She'll have to devote more of her forces to taking it out, rather than dealing with the cannons and the danmaku cannons. She frowns. At the least, though? This is making her feel this place is definately a more vital target. If they have tech like this machine, they would definately have technology she could use.

The Kokatorimon are torn apart by the gunfire, bullets striking them. Data leaking out all over. The birds let out painful cries, most of them falling rather readily. Those that still stand are going on the defensive, having trouble thinking of ways to stand up to that mech.

Violet will have to take more direct charge of this battle, then. She starts shouting out orders from on high. Her troops are falling apart, but she /has/ to take command. Her radio transmits the orders to the troops further away from her.

"KOKATORIMON! FALL BACK. Frigimon, move in and form an ice perimeter around the machine! Keep it from escaping. Kuwagamon, go in to the base and take some of those cannons. Airdramon, remain on guard against the machine!"

The Digimon loyally get working on this. The Frigimon begin to move in. This will be made hard, due to just how /fast/ White Glint is compared to them. But, they are attempting to make massive thick walls of ice, by punching the ground and causing the walls to form. They're trying their best to predict White Glint's path.

The Airdramon are trying to help with this. They fire bursts of energy from their mouths, aiming to hit White Glint, while also trying to keep him confine to one area. Keep her in the ice area.

The Kuwagamon move in. Their hard shells are tough, though the cannon fire is wearing them down. But, using their massive scissor-sharp mandibles, they are attempting to cut the cannons out of the ground, and pull them up. This should help minimize the damage that the /rest/ of the group is taking.

The Birdramon, meanwhile, are acting. Or at least, the ones that are still up are. They're trying to grab their fallen comrades, and bring them outside of the battlefield.

Violet does have one other trick up her sleeve, though. She holds up her Digivice. A small rectangular device, that looks much like an old virtual pet toy.

     "Tinkermon, Realize."

A fairy-like Digimon clad in green appears. Though it does not stay in this form for long. It transforms, evolving, into a red clad witch, riding atop a broom. Witchmon.

If they can isolate White Glint, Witchmon will go in, and deal with it as best as she can.

Sagat (95) has posed:
The fiery fist slams into Sagat's face (although Kirikou probably has to jump to make it land that far up) - and while Sagat was bringing his guard up to intercept the blow, Kirikou's speed apparently gives him just enough of a surprise advantage that it strikes true, rocking Sagat back on his heels, actually forcing him to take a couple of steps backward to regain his balance.

And he grins as he reaches up, rubbing the back of his hand against the scorched proto-bruise that left. "*Now* you seem like a fighter," he grins. "Good. You'll be worth my time."

One long stride closes the distance between Sagat and Kirikou again, and this time Sagat's not messing around; his left leg comes up as if for the next step forward - and then snaps up and out to full extension, not aiming for the teen's face but for his upper chest.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
There's a worryingly loud Scream as the bolt hits Fayt right between the eyes, The pale mage's body twitching and convlusing as the electricty runs through him...

How can I do business with a guy who falls over in a stiff breeze? How c'n anyone?

You're turning /me/ into a panic... we both can't be panicked and worried and nervous!

"..." as the elctricty leaves, fayt and he starts to settle down again. Fayt looks... weird. There's this sort of blank look on his face and. "C-can't lose again. They'll panic. Can't... can't..."

Fayt is very suddenly STARING stright at Kari, hsi face blank as he suddenly takes aim again. "GO AWAY ALREADY! Fire bolt! Split!"

Fayt's staff firess of a small bolt of fire, that suddenly splits into several, all headed stright for Kari. At the same time, there's a weird buzzing noise as what looks to be multicolored electricty starts to dance around Fayt's head... weird.

Whatever's going on Fayt is... likely not so much on the calm and rational right now.

White Glint (322) has posed:
Just about all of Line Ark's periphery forces are inside of the tower by now, clustered in its underground confines where they can bottleneck invaders into a killzone. Protecting the generator system itself takes priority above the defensive systems. As expensive as they were and as difficult they will be to replace, that's what defensive systems are for. As the Kuwagamon draw further into Megalis' defensive perimeter, the smaller anti air guns bristling all around the solar farm begin to open up, sending plain, rapid plasma into the air in streams of crackling blue bolts. The larger cannons have much more of a punch up close where more of the bullet wall will hit at once, but the sheer number of highly durable targets ensures that more than enough get through; severing gun emplacements from their power cables with showers of flying green sparks. The amount of gunfire has been drastically reduced, to the point it is more harassment fire than heavy artillery by now. Still the ground forces don't come out of their ambush point. They must have some kind of faith in that lone NEXT.

"The enemy is diverting their forces towards your position. Keep trying to draw more of them away. We need at least 60% of them away from the plant if we're going to pull this off." Fiona's voice goes straight into her pilot's neural uplink, rather than trying to swim through the pressurized cockpit. "What about the energy cannons? They're carrying them off instead of destroying them." White Glint replies in monotone. "Forget about those. We can replace those, but we can't replace Megalis. Stay focused and take out as many targets as you can." says Fiona. "Acknolwedged. Switching to loadout D3."

White Glint begins to charge back in from the rear of Violet's forces, spinning both gatling cannons at full burn as she empties both drums of ammunition indiscriminately into the mob; purging both weapons with explosive bolts as they run dry. Another salvo of cluster missiles from dual shoulder pods follows the hailstorm of bullets as the frame's arms suddenly flash green, teleporting in replacement guns using yet more cross-world tech. Breaking off the charge, White Glint swoops upward from her dive and begins to climb, wielding what looks like an oversized sniper rifle in each hand. The moment the swarm of Airdramon open fire, the lone AC NEXT caught in the middle of it begins the most unbelievable series of evasive maneuvers imaginable. Maneuvering boosters mounted all over its entire frame go from a steady burn to spitting colossal plumes of rocket flame one after the other, throwing the mecha through jarring, breakneck zigzags, left, right, up, down, swinging around 180 degrees in either direction. It moves with absolutely no regard to aerodynamics or momentum, repeatedly dipping under and over the sound barrier with a rattling chain of supersonic booms.

The sheer volume of energy blasts raining down from above manage to score hits here and there, pelting White Glint in the miniscule lulls between boosts, causing a pale green spherical barrier to flare to life around the NEXT; slowly growing brighter as it absorbs more and more enemy fire. Despite the aerial hellstorm going on however, the distant, misty crack of sniper fire rings out over and over again; twin rifles throwing out hypersonic slugs left and right, aiming to shoot down the Airdramon one at a time with nothing but steady, relentless precision. Focusing on dodging fire, weaving around ice walls, and high speed sniping with two weapons at once, spreads even a talented pilot's attention thin however. Within a few minutes, it seems the Frigimon have more or less accomplished what they set out to do; blocking the NEXT from sight inside a pyramid of icy walls.

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou has no difficulty leaping and attacking. His natural athletic talent, combined with Shibusen training, makes that kind of attack easy enough. No doubt with the difference in height between him and Sagat, Sagat would've naturally been ready to block lower. The jump shot to the face, that's probably a trick that'd only work once. That's fine with Kilik. He's got other tricks... and when it comes down to it, he only gets stronger when a fight degenerates to the point where tricks no longer apply.

Kirikou blocks Sagat's snap kick, apparently ready to attempt force against force again. The boy has proven he doesn't lack strength or commitment, so it's not an unspeakably stupid move. It's also not the move he's actually doing. Just as Sagat's leg reaches full extension, Kilik's block breaks. He flows to one side instead, hoping to unbalance the more powerful warrior as Sagat meets less resistance than expected. Continuing the sideways movement, Kirikou spins, striking with backfist, dropping low for a sweep, then reversing his spin and arcing his left instep high in an attempt to capitalize on the imbalance on whatever vulnerable point may be left exposed.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
The kitsune raises an eyebrow as the mage starts to freak out? It's likely she's more sensing the sudden churning of magic escalation within him than what she's actually seeing. "Well well, what's this now?"

But before she can question farther he's back up and flinging fireballs at her. "Aw, I think I made him maaa-aad~" Followed by a much more aggressive sounding "GOOD!" as she turns herself sideways and her weapon shifts back into a staff. The first couple of fireballs hit, but when she throws her arm up the others all abruptly shatter apart and swirl away to her in a cascade of red and orange kirby krackle as she uses her ability to absorb magic energies as a dispelling method.

Then she lifts her fingers to her lips and licks them, giggling afterwards. "I was right, you -do- taste wonderful~"

Then in a flash he teleports from her spot to right next to fate, her tone shifting to a darker and more sinister one as she tries to thrust her hand right to his forehead and rip that tantilizing power out of him. "GIVE ME SOME MORE!"

Sounds like he inadvertantly tripped her addiction to magical power sources.

Sagat (95) has posed:
The backfist connects, although not as devastatingly as Kirikou might have hoped - and Sagat steps over the leg sweep, his balance just wavering a little as his weight is already leaving the leg that gets swept at the moment of impact. The kick, on the other hand, smacks hard into Sagat's shoulder, prompting a grunt and a grimace.

And then Sagat tries to take Kirikou's head off with an elbow to the side of his skull, his arm unfolding from the elbow strike to try and grab the back of Kirikou's head and shove him down on the ground, before Sagat turns to fully face his opponent.

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou ends up rather proud of that combo, a move series from his highly agile fighting style. Sagat might recognize Capoiera, or a variant thereof, from his extensive street fighting experience. Even recognizing the style though doesn't necessarily lead to a major advantage. The fighting style's deceptive and highly mobile. It's a slow style with a lot of build-up to moves, but the power and agility of the style suit Kilik well.

Unfortunately for Kirikou, his last arcing kick has a pretty huge recovery time. He doesn't smash his foe as hard as he might like, didn't send him down or even stagger him. Sagat recovering before Kirikou does is bad news for the Meister. The elbow strike catches him cleanly, spinning him to the ground in a crumpled heap. Sagat doesn't even need to grab the boy to put him down.

Fortunately for Kilik, he's not a normal person. A normal person would be out of the fight, or perhaps dead, from a hit like that. Kirikou groans, clutching his head, but he doesn't lose his focus. He might not be able to SEE right now, but he still knows where he is and what he's doing. Fighting. Fighting for his life.

Kilik rolls, trying to get away from Sagat, to get back to his feet and recover. First get distance, then get up. Get... UP! Kirikou's unsteady as he rises to his feet, his cornrow hair on the side of his head matted with blood that's dirty from the ground. As he staggers, he sets his sights. "Not bad, old man." he says, grinning despite the obvious pain. "No one hits like that at the academy, not with pure physical force. But I've taken worse. Shocking, ain't it?" he says with a smirk. Nothing fancy this time. Kirikou comes forward, his left fist glowing with its own light different from the right fist. Its glow is yellow-blue, the actinic glow of an electric spark. The attack should be easy enough to block since Kilik's in no shape to do anything fancy, but he's got power behind the blow that has nothing to do with muscle and everything to do with heart.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
One thing about Fayt's magic that should be noted about Fayt's magic is that being chaos magic, it's unstable, reeally unstable, Fayt, being hte poor guy stuck with it, can ready keep it undercontrol and use it with a certian amount of safety. When others start to directly tamper with it however? All bets are off.

As soon as Kari pulls pwoer off of Fayt, The electricy around his head suddenly goes heywire, the buzzing gets LOUD There's a sudden crack...

Fayt has an afro now. A big blue one. If Kari were to check her head odds are? yep, her hair has gone afro too. Fortunatly between the minimal build up and how little Kari took that was a pretty mild surge but still... she might want to stop doing that.

Fayt meanwhile, Fayt is still in full on freak-out mode, He whirls around to face Kari, practically shoving his staff in her face. "I said leave! Force bolt!" cue another bolt of energy getting fired at the kitsune.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
This is honestly incredibly frustrating for Violet. The Airdramon simply can /not/ touch this machine. At the least, the Next is within the wall of ice, now. But it costed her forces a /lot/ of damage. Across the battlefield, there are numerous fallen Digimon. The Digimon were blown up left and right by the superior firepower.

And, some of the fallen Digimon have somewhat... Dissapeared. No, they didn't get retrieved. Instead, a number of the fallen Digimon, from each group, have died. Or really, 'faded away'. Their data is returning to the Digital World, where it will return to egg form.

The remaining Digimon, including the Frigimon, are working on recovering the wounded, and stealing any other technology within easy reach. It looks like a lot of them are on the retreat in general, now.

Except for one. Violet is assuming that the NEXT will chase after. It's the main force, after all. And so, it will need to be distracted to allow the others to escape unscathed.

"Witchmon... I'm counting on you. I know you can do this."

She actually gives the Witchmon a bit of a hug before it takes off. It is her partner Digimon, after all. People grow attached to them.

The red dressed witch flies down on her broom, bursting through the ice pyramid. The Frigimon left a bit of a weak spot, to allow this.

Witchmon hovers in front of White Glint, smirking wildly. Her hands are clawed, and one is lazily motioned towards the mech, sort of acting as if she is shoo'ing it away.

"Aw, come on, you're the big deal? The thing I've been dragged out to fight? Come on, it's just a /tin can/ piece of junk. /Barely/ worth my time."

This is, basically, posturing and bluffing. She knows what is going on out here. Though she isn't sure if the enemy can hear her inside the NEXT. It's hard to tell with these robot things sometimes. But still, acting dismissive to piss its pilot off, and focus them on her instead, is the main goal.

Suddenly, her hand is filled with a ball of water. She tosses it forward, shouting out, happily, playfully, and cruely.

     "AQUARY PRESSURE!"

The ball of water becomes a ribbon, and tries to crush at the NEXT from all sides. It holds a lot more power than what any other Digimon present has...

Yeah, this is a different class of enemy.

Sagat (95) has posed:
"You're not in --"

Sagat's reply beyond that is cut off by an involuntary yelp of pain as the electricity plows through his body, literally making his heart skip a beat before the contact is broken and he begins recovering, shaking his head to clear it. "Are both of those 'natural' elements for you?" he wonders. "Or did you learn to channel different elements as needed? Well, whatever ... you're not in the academy any more, boy." He inhales deeply, then closes in with a quick little barrage of attacks - elbow to Kirikou's face, a kick aimed at his upper left leg, and a punch that descends at Kirikou's shoulder like a falcon diving on her prey ... or a tiger pouncing, perhaps.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
That it's more chaos magic may very well be the reason Kari-Shaba is trying to suck more of it up, even as her hair and her tails to boot frizzle out from the strange surge of magic.

And then Fayt blasts her with another force bolt, this time with enough oomph that it pushes her away from him. The kitsune blinks a few times. "You might have some spunk in you after all." She runs her fingers through her hair and pulls to the side, making it stretch almost rubber-like, then lets go and it snaps back into her usual style. But that hungry, almost wild look hasn't faded from her eyes as she lowers her head a bit, unstable grin curling back across her muzzle once more.

"o/~ Be careful making wishes in the dark (dark)... Cant be sure when theyve hit their mark (mark).... o/~"
She snaps her arms down to her sides, hissing purple flames roaring to life around her hands.
"o/~ Besides in the meantime Im just dreaming of tearing you apart!

Im in the de-de-tails with the devil.o/~" She starts to stalk slowly back towards Fayt, heads till cocked forward.
"o/~ So now the world can never get me on my *dun dun* level!
Just got to get you off the cage; Im my own lovers rage... Gonna need a spark to ignite... o/~

Then abruptly she snaps her head up, her eyes glowing over with that purple crackle now, making her expression all the more sinister looking.

"o/~ My songs know what you did in the daa-aark! o/~"

"o/~ So let 'em up up up! o/~" Her five tails fan out behind her.
"o/~ Light 'em up up up! o/~" Each one of the tips ignites, burning in a bright purplish flame that radiates as much chaotic energy as it does heat.
o/~ Light 'em up up up... o/~"

And then her entire form is engulfed in the blazing chaotic aura briefly as she raises one arm over her head, then its drawn up into that palm and she whips the arm down towards her foe and unleashes a large roaring stream of purple tainted flames towards the other mage.

"o/~ I'M ON FIRAH! o/~"

White Glint (322) has posed:
Being locked within an arena, even made out of ice, isn't the best place to be for a NEXT pilot; especially not one with a heavily depleted Primal Armour field. White Glint tosses the dual sniper rifles the moment she is locked in, trading them for a pair of forearm mounted units of some kind with another teleporation beacon. The missile pods are likewise purged, allowing the overed boosters in back the space to unfold. "What are the after, Fiona?" The pilot intones over the uplink, boosting her radar and ECM output to read enemy motion through the ice. Her HUD link to the first through fifth battle groups shows they've encountered the enemy at the solar farms; normal forces engaging the digimon attempting to cart away guns, power sinks, solar generators and k-particle conduits. They should be able to hold out, at least for a while, but her mind is still on the battle unfolding outside, trying to visualize the lines of biped guardmechs and quaduped heavy gunners storming out from the vanguad.

Before she can stage her heroic getaway however, she has another problem to deal with. One of these monsters seems to have come to meet her in person, most likely of some kind of elite status if it had seriously come alone. White Glint hovers in place, level with Witchmon, appearing as if waiting for her movement, but in truth surveying the hole left behind her. Fiona speaks up for her. Her operator had a longstanding tradition of communicating their shared thoughts without her saying a thing. Furthermore, the level of detachment an operator has from an engagement means that her partner is more likely to be thinking with a clear head; a trait that White Glint had trusted with her life many times before. "This is your last warning. Thusfar we have been restrained in our commitment to this engagement. If these forces are so disposable to you, at least think of your allies you are putting in danger. Surely their lives aren't worth gambling on this."

Then all of a sudden, Witchmon makes her move. From a dead standstill, White Glint only has enough time to engage her PA field before Aquary Pressure hits. The tendrils of pressurized liquid wrap tight around the spherical field that flares to life over the NEXT's body, crunching it in a steady vicegrip that causes the greenish glowing orb of force to crackle and spark; becoming a hazy mess of motes as it degrades and destabilizes. Finally, the attack shatters it completely, breaking through in a shower of viridian sparks. In the tiny gap after Witchmon's attack shutting down the NEXT's barrier, where the watery ribbons have to constrict through the remaining empty space to capture the mecha, White Glint makes her move. The ice dome reverberates with a deafening roar as she engages the over booster; funneling all energy into thrusters and shooting straight past Witchmon for the hole she'd left behind, exploding out into the open air. Stacked rows of back mounted thrusters unfold into formation and erupt trails of white hot fire. The cross shaped formed by their new positions, for all the world, makes the thruster exhaust look like white wings.

White Glint dives from the air, hitting mach 3 just at the point where she begins to skim across the ground. Approaching the Frigimon and their remaining ground forces from behind, both of the NEXT's forearm units crackle to life, projecting 20 foot long blades of violet energy. Using the craft's legs as nothing but stabilizers with mounted boosters, White Glint goes spinning through the horde like a blender, sweeping from side to side with swords outstretched to mow down anything and everything in her way; focused on preserving the lives of Line Ark soldiers over taking out the enemy leadership/

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Oh, if only Sagat knew. Kirikou stays low, his stance wide and overly steady as he recovers from the stunning blow. Most of his body is covered by those huge metal gauntlets. And, somehow, he maintains enough presence of mind and the balance to rock his head out of the way of that first blow like he was a boxer.

With his too-low stance, he has no chance to avoid the leg kick. He turns into the kick though, absorbing the strike with solid muscle to minimize the damage. Then his fist comes up, stopping Sagat's tiger punch cold. The power behind the blow staggers him, but somehow he manages to turn most of the force aside.

He grins up at Sagat. "Twin elements." he agrees with that insolent smirk. Seems he's making a joke, only it's probably not obvious. "About as natural as it gets. I'm a Meister, not a witch." he claims a bit indignantly. There are other possibilities within the Multiverse, he knows, but on his world destructive magic comes from witches. Soul energy is another matter entirely.

Without warning, Kirikou's knee buckles as if from repeated damage finally catching him at a bad moment. He pitches forward and turns the collapse into a skillful shoulder roll, moving to flank the Emperor of Muay Thai. Halfway through the roll he uncoils, turning his heels towards Sagat and lashing out in a full-body mule kick. He can't aim the attack particularly well, but that's okay. With the full force of his body behind it, the question is IF it hits, not where.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
*FWOOSH!* "AAAAAAAA!" Fayt suddenly disappears in a stream of purple fire. Only to suddenly pop out again. body covered in nasty looking burns, his hair a giant ball of flame, and a crazed look in his eyes. "NO MORE! NO MORE! GO THE HELL AWAY! Force bolt! Split! Split! Split!"

Fayt's staff fires off a small bolt of lightening that quickly splits into several. Those bolts then split intoseveral, then THOSE bolts split into several. That's a lot of bolts headed towards Kari! Each 'split' Fayt does however, causes more of that multi-clored electricty to pop up around Fayt's head. Is he building another surge already?

Sagat (95) has posed:
Faking an injury is one of the oldest tricks in the book, right up with obvious distraction ploys. Sagat pivots out of the way of Kirikou's mule-kick, one of the boy's feet just brushing up against Sagat's leg ...

And then Sagat lashes out with a kick of his own, attempting to punt Kirikou like he were a soccer ball at the World Cup.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
Kari-Shaba quickly grabs her staff in both hands and holds it in front of her, the crystalline head glowing brightly with the same color as her aura. But the sheer -multitude- of rapidly multiplying force blasts is more than she can diffuse at one time, and they pummel down on her like a hailstorm, the ones that don't hit directly kicking up large clouds of dirt and rubble around her.

That cloud fwooms off to the sides moments later as the kitsune launches herself out of it, still glowing manevolently despite the pummeling she just took. "o/~ Writers keep writing what they write (write)... Somewhere another pretty vein just dies... o/~
At the apex she holds her staff up over her head as the crackling miasma swirls around the top of it.
"o/~ I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see,
You're the antidote to everything except for me! o/~

The growing spell churns outward from that point, starting to form multiple little crackling spheroids that almost look like minature stars.

"o/~ A constellation of tears on your lashes...
burn everything you love and then burn the ashes! o/~

She drops her staff down to point it toward's Fayt and the 'stars' all spiral away from her to bombard the mage with her conjured fury.

"o/~ In the end every-thing collides ... My childhood spat back out the monster that you see! o/~"

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
The Frigimon are torn up, many just flat out bisected by the blades. With these being snowman creatures, it is really a lot like a hot knife through butter. The frigimon fade away, transfering to the Digital World.

There is gonna be like a real big baby boom in the Digital World soon. Violet ponders to herself, just briefly, where they'll reform at.

Still, /all/ of the remaining Digimon, save Witchmon, are on the run. Many carrying things. This is a retreat, full out. Even if Violet won't admit it. A number of them /are/ carrying electronic bits, and some Kuwagamon are getting away with cannons, but just as many Digimon have been shot down, cut in half, or otherwise slaughtered.

But, Witchmon still remains. She is trying to chase after White Glint as /fast/ as possible. She is decently fast, though the NEXT is faster. It is only after the slaughter continues that she catches up.

A cat-like familiar leaps off of her. It looks as if the cat is its own creature, but in truth, it's simply part of her. It flies forward, with razor sharp claws, to try and cut at the legs of the NEXT.

Witchmon also lifts her left hand, creating a ball of wind. This isn't aimed to attack White Glint, though. Instead, it aimed at the Frigimon. Trying to blow them away, softly, but with enough force to /hopefully/ get them away from White Glint.

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou tries, but ... well, all things considered, he lacks experience. He's got plenty of experience for a fourteen year old boy, and he's killed a number of opponents. None of them were equals though. They were scum, every last one of them, and most of them had some ability but no stomach for a stand-up fight.

Not entirely sure what went wrong, Kirikou finds himself smashed down-field. He has no idea what hit him. He's not even sure it was a man. The boy curls up, his body beaten down and from the look of it out of the fight.

The Meister doesn't much know how to give up, however. He's not Black Star, unwilling to give up beyond all possible hope of victory. Nevertheless he's not ordinary either. He has his cheering section with him at all times, and if they don't actually SAY anything, he can feel them urging him to get up. Fire and Thunder's feelings reach him. Get up. Flee. Fight. Stall. Fight. Get up. Fight. He doesn't know which of the twins are sending which empathic message, but it doesn't matter. They're sending him their feelings. For a Meister and his Weapons, that's more important than anything. Usually it's the Meister sending feelings to the Weapon, but Kirikou's got a huge advantage other Meisters don't. He's a Technician. He can resonate with damn near anything sent his way, instead of having to send out only energy powered by feelings that are shared.

Latching on to the feelings, Kirikou manages to stand up. Body bent slightly, hunched around his latest injury, he's still smiling. "I gotta stop letting you do that." he claims, feeling around within himself. Not physically but emotionally. Don't give up. Face your foe. Don't be afraid... if you lose, lose properly. While there's strength enough... fight.

The sentiment of defense, of resilience, that's Thunder. Kirikou realizes that well enough. He knows the Twins, knows every detail of how they think, what they want. Determination and steadfastness is Thunder's as well. The desire to keep fighting so long as allies are on the field, to not leave them hanging. Fire wants to strike back at Sagat, to aggressively trash him, but it's Thunder to which Kirikou resonates. Electricity crawls up and down the Meister's arm, flaring out in arcs and yellow-blue bolts of energy. "Shocking!" he cries out. "The more you hurt me, the more fired up I get! C'mon, give me your best shot!" he calls out, breaking into a staggering lope. With ten feet to go, he bounds into the air. Kirikou arches upwards, cocking his fist high, then bringing it down in a powerful overhand smash with a cry of "T-2!" If Sagat's so bold as to stand in its way, he deserves whatever he gets... but the blow is intended to hit the ground, not the kickboxer. In an earthwrecking explosion, Kirikou's going to send up fountains of exploding dirt and rock, not to mention arcs of power, in all directions.

White Glint (322) has posed:
Coming back out the front of (what remains of) the ground based horde, White Glint comes to a stop by planting both feet in the desert sand, twisting into a tight, lightning fast spin to absorb her momentum before the NEXT finally comes to a stop, withdrawing its energy blades on the spot. With her PA field still recharging, she turns around just in time to catch Witchmon right on her tail. Fiona, without the benefit of augmentation herself, doesn't even have enough time to utter a "look out!" before the witch's familiar is on her; claws ripping through the craft's legs like no physical material should be able to. Armour screeches and actuators spark and hiss, spraying smoke and fire before the damage control systems kick in. She wont be doing any more ground fighting like this.

And so White Glint returns to the air; blasting a glassy crater in the sand underneath her as she launches straight up, firing tiny snaps of her boosters to adjust herself in Witchmon's direction. The band of optical sensors wrapped around its head glow blue in the center, before shifting that glow from left to right, like there is some kind of giant, singular eye behind them, taking in its surroundings. The laser blades snap back into hangar compartments in the AC's arms, making room for a pair of matched rail rifles to fall into its grip. The overed boosters fold back in again as a mismatched pairing of cannons swivel up over its shoulders and lock into place; quad arming all at once. The instant they slide into position, both guns kick back with volcanic muzzle flash, spitting a rocket propelled proximity bomb from the left, and a high velocity spray of tungsten flechettes from the other, saturating Witchmon's airspace. The rifles in her hands snap to either side instead; a forward boost on the left side and a backward boost on the right side whirling the NEXT around through another 180 where it fires a hypersonic slug into the midst of each brawl taking place below; ripping through the air with such force that the impact may as well be explosive. She's going after Violet's confederate allies.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
As soon as the orbs appear, Fayt starts to move, frantically twistig adn dodging about as hte starts shoot past him, a couple managed to find ther mark, causing the little mage ot yelp, but the bulk of the spell misses him. Immeidatly he takes aim but...

A slug from glint's rifle slams into the ground, Fayt suddenly staggering back a few steps as he trhrows an arm up to shield his face. "What the?!" That may have not been for him, but with that much force behind it? Fayt can't help by still be startled.

Sagat (95) has posed:
More electricity, it seems; Sagat falls back half a step, bringing his guard up once again as Kirikou approaches, and leaps away when the boy bounds for his attack ...

And then Kirikou goes and blows a crater in the ground instead of hitting Sagat directly, so it hardly matters that Sagat dodged the direct hit. The force of the eruption bounces Sagat higher into the air, like he were caught in somebody's juggling air combo, and there's a yell more of frustration than of pain from the Muay Thai champion.

The blast from the Armored Core that rips through the air between Sagat and Kirikou creates enough of a flare that Sagat twists away, shielding his good eye - and between Kirikou's own move and the effects from a hypersonic rifle shot plowing into already-disturbed ground, there's enough dust and dirt and smoke in the air now that even if the Emperor of Muay Thai had *both* eyes to work with, he'd be hard-pressed to find his opponent again.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
The barrage of gunfire piercing towards Witchmon drives her to the defensive. She is, truly, one of the more powerful Adult level Digimon. Well trained, well practiced, and well experienced. But this assault is more than she could hope to easily stop. She holds her hands up, creating a swirling barrier of wind and water around her. It only helps to slow down the fire, though not enough to make too much of a difference.

But now, the NEXT is going after the others. The remaining Digimon, about half the forces from the start, are fleeing. Witchmon, though injured, is moving towards Violet again. Violet smiles. Witchmon will heal, and Witchmon is tough enough to deal with the injuries, for now. The other Digimon will be the main focus for medical work after this.

...She just wishes she was a doctor of digital medicine, but oh well. She at least knows some basic first aid. Kind of.

The Devidramon she is riding turns around, and starts to flee. She stays near the back of the retreating horde, tailed by only Witchmon. Ready, in case the NEXT decides to go after her again.

Kari-Shaba (179) has posed:
Kari-Shaba drops back to the ground and brings her magic staff to bear, probably prepare something to go into the sort of beam-o-war you often seen when two spellcasters are fighting... but something else explodes on the field between them first. With a yowl of surprise the kitsune half turns and wraps her tails around herself protectively.

Then as that's clearing, it becomes apparently that enough is enough and her allies are already taking off. She may be crazy, but she doesn't want to deal with all those foes alone on their home turf.

So instead she raises one hand to her muzzle, then flattens it out to puff across her palm as if blowing the mage a kiss. Her tone has gone back to that uneasily cheerfully tone once more. "Until next time I get hungry~"

Followed by a manevolently gleeful cackle as she is engulfed in purple colored lens flare and teleports away.

Kirikou (127) has posed:
Kirikou's far from invincible. He talks big, like the more hurt he gets the stronger. In a way it's true, but that strength's a finite resource. He didn't use his strongest attacks even though he used a single named technique. He knows Sagat has power techniques still in reserve too. That's fine, he's not able to use his strongest resonances unless he either has time to spare, the fight turns desperate, or the flow of battle brings about the rare resonance between him and both his unusual Weapons.

Cursing and swearing words no 14 year old should use, at least not in mixed company, Kilik staggers back from the impact of that rail slug. Coughing, he looks about, trying to figure out where the kickboxer went before he finds out by getting hit. As he glances around he spots his companion in retreat.

Cursing again, Kirikou turns and begins to head out after the Digimon. "Sorry man!" he calls out over his shoulder. "If it was just you and me, I'd probably stay and fight 'till the end was clear. But with my ride gone, I need to hitch a new one!" With that, jerking a thumb in the direction of Doctor Hunter and her digimon, he begins to lope off. He's not moving his full-out sprint, with a bit of a stagger to his gait, but he's still going impressively fast. Whatever damage he suffered, it seems he still has something left in him. And, perhaps more telling than his physical ability, his gauntleted fists are gleaming with the energy they had earlier. The energy that forewarns a powerful attack. The right, the fire fist, is gleaming brighter than the left. Fire isn't happy with leaving... but no, Kirikou has to go and he's not about to leave anyone behind.

Dr. Violet Hunter (471) has posed:
One of the Digimon does in fact stop to give Kirikou a ride.

     A Kokatorimon.

Kirikou will be riding out of here on the back of a giang chicken.
