Tinker Ranger Captor Spy
Date of Scene: 03 September 2014
Location: Njorun Station - Medical
Synopsis: Poor little Kaede has a couple of visitors...
Cast of Characters: 172, 312, Ziggy Grover

Kaede (312) has posed:
It's a typical day in Medical. Doctors and Nurses mill about the various patients. But its the robotics wing that's likely center stage. Kaede is in the area for synthetic life forms, propped up in a charging cradle with her right arm and both legs missing. She's got little bandaids plastered all over her with cherry blossom patterns. Someone's idea of a joke perhaps.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
He'd been entertaining the children in the wing, the ones who were able to sit up and to gather around following him as he tended to the ones who were bored out of their skulls being unable to move.

The shadow puppets were a hit, at the very least, with the story of how Dillon joined the Power Rangers being a crowd-pleaser. Although, Ziggy had to clean up the story a little bit...

"And so, Dillon triumphed over the bad guys with his Jello-Fu, and the other Rangers were impressed, and they gave him a black memory-alloy suit."

"What's memory-alloy?" one of the children asked.

"Uh... it's... it's a very fancy, thin metal."

"So everyone's wearing metal, like the robots in the other wing?"

"... kind of?" Ziggy's curiousity was peaked. "What robots?"

"There's a pretty small metal fairy healing up. With sakura blossoms. She looks bored."

"Really, hmmm?" Now Ziggy rubs his chin. "You think she'd like a visitor?"

"YEAH!" the children cheer.

And that is why visitors MIGHT be seeing a flock of children following Ziggy like the Pied Piper, tromping towards the robotics wing, before nurses catch up with Ziggy and express their -outrage- and indignity.

"Awwwwwww!"

"I'll be back," Ziggy exclaims, waving his hands as though lowering the music. "Be good for the nurses, and be sure to ask for the -red- jello."

A few pointed questions later, and Ziggy opens the door, peeking around to it. "Anyone -extremely- bored here? Because I've gooooooot a show for you..."

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto is here, walking along the halls, passing by security in the way that Union Elites tend to be able to do. She doesn't really -look- like she belongs in a military base's medical facility, but perhaps she's a daughter of one of the soldiers here?

Well, no, she's not, but surely some people might assume that. Maybe.

The Cardcaptor is heading for the robotics wing! And... after giving the crowd of 'awww'ing children down the corridor a confused look, just heads right on in. She's currently wearing a bright pink dress. And has a cherry blossom in her hair.

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede blinks, clearing her eyes a little. "Huh? Oh, hi!" she chirps brightly at Ziggy. "I'm not really bored, I was running a diagnostic and catching up on the Union boards." she replies, smiling brightly.

The little robofairy then seems to glow when Sakura steps in. "Master!!!" she moves to try and get up, only to remember she's missing a good portion of her body. "I'd come hug you Master, but I'm a little legless." she quips. "Might have had too much nitrojelly~."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"I heard a bit of you here and there, now that I think about it."

Opening the door, and stepping in, Ziggy keeps it open for the little girl in pink who just trots in behind him and is greeted by the little fairy. "Oh... er, master?"

Tilting his head to look at Sakura again, Ziggy motions with both his hands in a 'trying to wade through information' way. "You're, uh... you're not one of those cyborgs, right? I hope you're not, because it's kinda strange seeing a -really- young cyborg. Doesn't it get a little awkward if your robot parts don't keep up with... right. Well, I was just going to say hi and give you a little entertainment if you're bored. But if you're going to..." He peers down at Sakura. "... interface or something, I can just..." He points back towards the door with both hands. "Go that way and.." BUMP.

The door closes, as Ziggy rubs his arm. OW. OW OW OW.

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
"I think cyborgs have to get surgery every year or something if they're still growing," Sakura says idly as she walks past Ziggy. "I'm pretty sure I heard that when I was going to school on Mid-Childa anyway..."

She smiles at Kaede, reaching into her pocket and producing a cherry-flavour jellycan. "Don't worry, Kaede," she says softly, placing the jellycan down on the charging cradle and reaching out to stroke the shinki's hair gently.

She then -stares- at Ziggy as she finally processes what he's talking about. "...I... uh..." Staaaare. "...I'm not a cyborg."

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede just... blankly stares at Ziggy. Blinking owlishly at him for a few moments, before she squeaks in glee at the jellycan. Her remaining arm reaches for it, and she sips at it blissfully, leaning into the petting finger with a very happy expression.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
The leather jacket Ziggy wore did nothing to cushion the blow of a very hard door-jamb. Hand still clutching where he'd hit his arm, Ziggy's eyes widen, mouth opening a bit. His hurting arm lifts just a bit to point a finger. "You're not a cyborg? The little one called you master, and... oh. I guess there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that usually, whenever there's robots calling someone who looks human 'master', it usually means I'm having to come up with Power Rangers one-liners. Like, "Stop, evil-doers! I'm that dreamcatcher that intercepts your dreams and turn them into nightmares...!" ... I'm still working on my heroic one-liners, you know." He peers at Sakura. "Just don't whistle. I'm still traumatized by -that- cyborg. Not that all cyborgs are bad, my friend's one. Say, what's -that- thing you've got there...?"

Looking at the jellycan, Ziggy picks it up and looks in it, picking up one of the thingamabobs, and pops one into his mouth. "What's it?"

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura continues to stare at Ziggy for a moment. "Uh. She's my Shinki. They're, like, um. Well not 'pets'... more like Pokemon really... What's the word for that sort of rel-"

And then Ziggy puts a jellycan in his mouth. "H-hey, you can't just... Don't drink that! It's not meant for humans!" She even reaches up to swat it out of his hand!

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede chimes in. "I'm your Partner, Master~." she provides, then stares in abject horror at what Ziggy does. "Wh... what, why are... that." you can almost see the BSOD behind her eyes.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
Making a face, Ziggy puts the jellycan down. "Yuck. That tasted awful. What is it?" He'd been a bit distracted. That Sakura -wasn't- apparently a cyborg, didn't mean that -Kaede- wasn't.

Putting a finger to his mouth, Ziggy licks his finger, smells it, wrinkles his nose, and grabs a kleenex to wipe it off.

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura just stares some more, then sighs and shakes her head. "It's... Shinki coolant. The label -says- it's for Shinkis only..." She sighs. "You won't get sick on that much, at least..." She reaches down to pat Kaede on the top of the head.

"So. Who on Earth are you?"

Kaede (312) has posed:
The fingerpat seems to reboot the little robot. "Hweh?" Kaede blinks, then reaches up to hug Sakura's finger with her remaining arm.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Coolant?" Eyes wide, Ziggy starts to wring his fingers, before pointing at his mouth. "Uh... wait, did I just..."

He hadn't quite swallowed it all, so that he manages to cover his mouth with the kleenex before spitting with tremendous volume is great. Unfortunately, pressure and that he hadn't covered his mouth tightly enough results in a backfire of spittage, and...

Doing his best to cover his face and wipe before the others can say anything, Ziggy turns back, properly cleaned, and ahems. "Ziggy Grover. Ranger Green." Grabbing another kleenex to wipe his hand down better, Ziggy offers a hand. "I'm a Power Ranger," he says as though that -explains- everything.

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura takes Ziggy's hand, still looking mildly confused. "Sakura Kinomoto," she returns the introduction. "Mage... Uh. 'Power Ranger'? Isn't that like... a tokusatsu hero...?" Headtilt. "It sounds familiar..."

She then raises a finger. "Oh! That's why you were talking about 'heroic one-liners'!"

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede looks between the humans. "I'm Kaede! I'm a Shinki. Raptias MMS Type Eagle! Union Steel manufactures my frame to help support and promote eco-friendly mining activities."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Um... I've got no idea what a tokusatsu hero is, but... your name sounds like it's Japanese!" Holding a finger up, Ziggy adds, "I have to say, I really liked Japan before the world ended. They had anime, which is usually fun, but I have to ask... what's with those -eyes-? They're BIG eyes. Like, completely full of ... tears or something every time..."

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura umms a bit. "'Special filming'. Like, guys in rubber suits and superheroes in totally-not-spandex, with explosions mostly made of smoke going off in the background?"

Pause. "Hey, Osamu Tezuka imitated Walt Disney's art style! If anything, the big eyes are -your- country's fault." Armcross. "...The world ended...?"

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede blinks, and falls quiet, sipping from her jellycan now and then as the others talk. She's damaged, after all, not like she can hug her Master properly.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Shhhh... don't say that word. You never know who might be listening in..." Ziggy replies with a furtive glance down at his morpher. "And countries don't even exist in -my- universe. We're down to -one city-. Which is pretty weird sometimes, because for whatever reason, I only see Asian people there when monsters come out and try to blow up the city. I swear, I can only seem to order Japanese food whenever one of those monsters show up."

Peering at Kaede, Ziggy reaches over to peer closer. "Hey, can I ask a question...? Why are you -female-? Why do robots even have genders?"

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
"That's... really sad- wait, what?" She peers at Ziggy again, frowning in confusion. "That... doesn't even... Does your world follow some sort of narrative logic or something...?" She looks baffled.

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede blinks at being addressed. "It's a design choice. Multi Moveable Systems decided that a female aesthetic would be more pleasing to their target audience. If I still had my right arm I'd bring up the wiki page for it."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Dont ask me about narrative logic, I'm the one who tells stories using shadow puppets," Ziggy replies, as he reaches into his jacket, and then pulls out a handkerchef. Which is tied to another handerchief. Which is tied to another. Pull pull pull... "Here, hold this." He hands one end to Sakura, and then keeps pulling, until he gets to the end. "There!"

Taking the end of the handkerchief rope, he shakes... and Presto, blanket, which Sakura is still holding one end to. Magic trick, really. Best to not answer how.

"Okay, I have to agree with you, females are a lot more pleasing to look at," Ziggy remarks, shifting the blanket just enough that neither Sakura nor Kaede can see his hands form gestures behind it.

A shadow looms, looking remarkably like a tube. "I AM VENJIX!" it squeaks, in mock Ziggy voice. "I'M A COMPUTER VIRUS. I took over the world! Only Corinth remains! But..."

A semblance of five fingers wiggle. "The Power Rangers are all that stand between me and OWNING THE WORLD."

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura raises a hand dramatically. "Shinki are girls because of -moe- and -kawaii-!" she declares, equally dramatically. "...The main market are apparently otaku but... they've become popular with everyone, really. Shinki are awesome."

She follows along with the magic trick, tilting her head to one side. "...You know, I used to love that stuff as a kid..." she murmurs, as she watches the shadow puppet story.

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede shifts a little in her charging cradle, trying to get a better view. "WE're fighters too though! I wanna enter the Battle Rondo next year! Prove I'm a /real/ Busou Shinki!" she announces fiercely, before going 'Ooo' at the shadow puppets.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"I have no idea what 'moe' is, but kawaii... is cute, right?" A little bit old-school in his anime-viewing apparently. That, or the world ended -before- moe took ahold of everything.

The five would-be shadow ranger puppets zip around, followed by two more. How Ziggy managed to pull that trick with one hand... well, magician's trick, though they did look rather like clothespins vaguely. "There was a mighty battle, and Venjix kept coming and coming. We rode around in different vehicles, called zords, and they looked like..." A wolf, a lion, a shark, an eagle, and a teddy bear float by. Don't ask about why Ziggy's humming the Teddy Bear Picnic as he continues the story. "And so far, we're still fighting them off, and humanity is surviving in that -one- city."

Shaking the blanket, Ziggy pulls on it, tucking it into a balled up fist, tapping it, and then shaking out a big plastic bouquet, which he starts to offer to Kaede, before realizing it might be a wee bit too bit. "Uh..."

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura tilts her head to the other side, then takes the bouquet of flowers. Then checks to see if they're real or fake. "...So, um. You're superheroes fighting to protect the human race? That's kinda cool... In a soul-crushingly depressing sort of way..."

Kaede (312) has posed:
Kaede blinks. "So, you fight robots?" she asks. "I'd guess it's robots, if it's a computer virus...." she muses, tapping her chin with her remaining arm. "Gotta say though, you don't look like much of a fighter."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
The flowers were fake, but Ziggy's eyes shifts slightly towards Sakura. "Hey, we're the good guys. We're -supposed- to be cool even when things are bleak. How're you going to have any bad guys without the -good- guys doing their things?" Tapping his chest, Ziggy puffs up proudly, a broad smile crossing his face as he puts both hands on his hips...

A smile that falters somewhat when Kaede makes her comment. "What... what?" Checking himself, looking down at his body, Ziggy tugs on the jacket. "What, is the jacket not thick enough? I mean, I thought the chicks digged -leather-. It's supposed to make you look tough. Or maybe I'm just not broody enough? Do girls -really- like the broody bad boys?" He thinks about it, then shakes his head. "Well, how about this? I'll give you a demonstration!"

Sakura Kinomoto (172) has posed:
Sakura rubs the back of her head. "...My boyfriend used to be broody but I only really started liking him when he started to stop being all broody, so... I dunno what to tell you, really." She shrugs helplessly. "I don't really think about other boys that way anymore. I mean... I'm fated to marry Syaoran! So why would I spoil friendships with half the people I meet just because they're the opposite gender?"

She giggles a bit. "You kinda remind me of Brad..."
