Cast of Characters: 22, 140

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
This is somewhere Medusa has gone several times before. The forests have a curious flora here, and the witch has opted to use some of them regularly in a few of her medicines. That's the good thing about the multiverse. So many different and new plants to work with, whether it is for medical reasons or for her own twisted research. Everything works as long as it keeps her busy with something, as she loathes being without something to do.

At the moment Medusa is up on one of the tallest branches of a large tree, using a knife to slice off some vines that seem to grow on the larger tree. It's delicate work, and the witch handles it with great care as she takes her time, bottling samples into small jars and vials, and then placing them into a bag thrown over her shoulder. Why, the woman even hums a tune to herself as she works.

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
That's the big problem with being a creature of habit. Union intel had no issues providing a tip, as to where Medusa might show up, places she seems to visit more than just a few times. And this tip was a good one. Ryuko's already here, and she'd only been waiting a few hours to see if her quarry would show. Sure enough, there she is. But, Ryuko is pretty patient. If she starts a fight at the right time, she won't have a whole lot of time to call for back up. She's a ways from help, herself, but...

That's besides the point. Ryuko slinks up to the base of that tree, draws her arm back, and slices through it with a single swing of her sword. And then she kicks it, hard. Hard enough that the tree /shudders/ and starts falling over.

"Yo. So, I hear you got somethin' that doesn't belong to you. And that someone's payin' big to have it back. So, make this easy, and cough it up. I'm fine if you wanna fight for it, though. Makes waitin' worth it."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
    Oh dear.

The sound and feel of something hitting the tree causes Medusa to blink, turning her head to look around. Only to see that everything else around the tree she's in is moving. Or rather... the three she's in is /falling/.

The voice from below does catch her attention, and Medusa moves her knife to her mouth before she kicks off of the branch, leaping towards the branch of a nearby tree as she passes by it. It is a bit higher than her current position, so the witch has to grab onto it, and she swings herself backwards and then underneath it and forward, landing on a lower branch. Once she's there, she takes the knife from her mouth and turns to face Ryuko, arching an eyebrow at the girl.

"Oh," she voices without sounding worried, her amber eyes studying Ryuko where she stands. "So you're after the reward then." It's not a question. Then she sighs and shrugs. "I don't mind fighting, dear. But as you might be able to tell, I don't have the sword on me. And do you honestly think I would tell you, even if you by some chance did manage to beat me?" A light chuckle leaves the woman.

Just who was this girl again... didn't she fight in the WMAT? The B bracket, wasn't it? That's one peculiar weapon, however.

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
"Uh, yeah. I totally think you would. I got no issues beatin' info out of you." Ryuko responds, hefting her weapon up and resting it against her shoulder, and placing her free hand on her hip. "I honestly don't give a shit about the reward. You did take somethin' that ain't yours. And that guy wouldn't go through all this, just to get it back, if it didn't mean somethin' to him."

She scowls a bit, her eyes narrowing some, "And that really just pisses me off, to be honest, lady."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Medusa crouches on the branch and peers down at Ryuko, resting her hands on her knees. "Oh, I know it means something to him. Which is why I have promised to return it to him if he does one small thing for me. Quite simple really." If he hadn't been so stubborn, then he would have his blade already. But that is none of this girl's business, now is it?

The scowl earns an amused smile in return. "Now, what makes you think that I care whether you are pissed off or not? You are hardly the first person to be angry at me, even when I haven't done anything to bother /you/ specifically~" Her eyes suddenly turn far more snakelike as she /leers/. "I'm afraid that I have no intentions of telling you where the sword is. Not for such a silly reason."

Leaning a bit forward, Medusa narrows her eyes. "Besides... do you even think you could do it...?"

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
Ryuko just tilts her head, and leers right back, not seeming intimidated. "Should'a thought to have him do it, while he was doin' your dirty work, still. Not his fault that you're butt-hurt about your plan goin' south, so now you're gonna be a sore loser, and try to con somethin' else outta him?"

She shrugs, "Wow, lady. Even for me, that's pretty low.." She pauses, "Huh.. Do what? Fight you? Take it back? That's kinda what I came here to do. Wouldnt've bothered if I didn't think I could."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Strangely enough, Ryuko's accusation... makes Medusa laugh, raising a hand in front of her mouth. Sure, it's not a benign laugh, but it doesn't sound entirely malicious either. It takes some seconds for her to calm down enough to speak, inhaling through her nose before she opens her mouth. "My dear... some things are better done of a person's own free will. And no, I do not seek to con him. I merely seek... to free him."

This girl seems confident enough, and Medusa cants her head. "Do you now...?" The witch chuckles softly this time, only to lean forward before she leaps down to a lower branch. "Right now you seem more interested in talking. Just an observation, dear~"

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
"Free him, huh.." Ryuko just gives the witch a puzzled look, a brow quirked. "Think that kinda already happened, though, seeing as he's not on your side." She shrugs, "Talkin', fightin'. As long as I get what I came for." She doesn't really smile. "You know, this sword is important, too. Like Senketsu, it's all I have left of my dad. Hell, this sword is the only clue I have, as to who killed him. Whoever has the other half.." She huffs. "Somebody like you.. What do you know, havin' forced somebody to do stuff to his friends, against his will.. What do you know, about something like that? How.. even somethin' like a sword can be important to someone?"

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"Oh, I don't expect you to understand. And I don't feel like lecturing you when I doubt you will be able to consider things from my point of view, dear." It is curious that they are still talking. But Medusa doesn't mind. It's a rare treat when people are more interested in talking rather than trying to slice her up and gobble down her soul.

"Yes, people do seem to form some peculiar bonds to items. Especially those of you who are relatively short lived." It's a curious thing, and she herself doesn't get attached that easily. So no, she doesn't really understand. "You misunderstand. I didn't force him to do anything. Everything he did while under the sword's influence... he did of his own free will. And yes, he told me how important the sword is to him. But... why should I give it back to him when he can't even be honest with himself...?" Medusa muses with a soft smile grazing her lips. "I have no use for it, and I do not intend to keep it for long anyway. But that doesn't mean I will just willingly hand it over for nothing~"

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
What the hell does that mean? Then, he wasn't brainwashed? "Honest with himself.. How?"

Ryuko gives another puzzled look, "So, what? You want something in exchange, then? What the hell could you possibly want, if you ain't just gonna 'hand it over for nothing'?" Her Kamui has been rather silent, his eye peering up at Medusa, unblinking.

"Either way, doesn't matter much.. You stole it from him. Everything else is just an excuse, for you holdin' onto it."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"You might be angry," Medusa sighs as she beholds Ryuko," but you live in a different world than D does. Most of you do, so I do not expect you to understand some of the problems that somebody like him has to deal with." Of course she doesn't understand, foolish girl. The witch smiles slightly, though it's not a nice smile by far. "I don't ask for much. But D is a stubborn man. It's a good thing I'm patient to make up for it~"

Stole, took possession of, safekeeping... there are many suitable and relative verbs to use. But Medusa shrugs. "It's too bad that you won't be getting the sword from me then, dear."

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
"What worlds I'm from, or the fact I ain't from his, doesn't change how important something is to someone." Ryuko huffs, "But if that's the case.. I don't see how someone like you would understand him, either." She shrugs, "If you don't, but somehow I can't understand, then I don't see the point in mentioning it to begin with, lady. At this point, I'd settle for you dropping the cryptic bullshit, and just saying what you want."

She turns, and just walks away. "Guess not. Not from you, anyway."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"I understand him better than he understands himself," Medusa claims with an eerie smile.

Why did she mention it? "Because if I didn't say anything, you would have been even more angry with me, dear. I'm stating things as simply as I can, though not everything is as easily explained as some people would prefer. Perhaps you will learn that when you are older. You are but a child, after all."

Is she leaving? Well, if she isn't going to try... then Medusa doesn't mind. Maybe it's because she is in a good mood, but when Ryuko turns and begins walking away, the witch smiles.

"What I want from D is the honesty to admit what he is. A monster. And that he sometimes enjoys being one."

Ryuko Matoi (140) has posed:
"So, that's it, then?" Ryuko doesn't turn around, though she does stop. "That's.. literally it? And you're callin' /me/ the child?" She huffs again and just keeps walking. "Whatever, lady. Just sounds to me like you won't give it back, till you get your ego stroked."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"Oh, I don't want my ego stroked, dear," Medusa claims even as Ryuko keeps on walking, and she herself stands up to her full height on the branch, resting her hands on her hips. "What I truly want is to see the world and everything in it head towards its natural state without silly things as ethics stand in the way. D can be so much more than he is if only he would be true to himself instead of prolonging the inevitable."

With that said, she twirls the knife between her fingers, and then she looks around. Hmmm. There ought to be more of those vines up in the tree...
