This one would be missed. This one would go noticed. The Sun-and-Moon guard captain was someone of rank, prestige. And most importantly, someone who could be used to send a message.

It's not long before he regains consciousness, magenta eyes widening significantly at the sight of the knife. No, it's the sight of the mask that does it. The featureless white porcelain mask; utterly blank save for the thin smile carved into place, and the chilling bore of a green eye glinting in the shadowed recess of the eye-hole, the other obscured by a long mass of lank and dull hair.

"I'm not afraid." He grunts. A statement that causes the mask to cock aside, almost mechanical in the sudden curiosity he's seemed to pique in the smiling shadow that wiped out his entire squad without so much as a drop of sweat. It's the silence that chills him the most, right afterwards, nothing more than that deadly stare as the mask-wearing monster twirls a knife on the tip of one finger

"Who are you?" Still silence, every passing second slowly increasing the dose of freon beginning to filter into his blood, facing down that stare. It breaks, and his relief is immense. But it is short lived. He slowly starts to come to a little more; the dull throb in his head telling a story of a rough slam and a sore bump that's no doubt not going to go away any time soon, and...

He's somewhere dark. Somewhere alone, with this smiling thing and the icy stare of its blood-spattered smile. He couldn't let it know that fear was rapidly swelling in his breast, gripping tight bands of ice around his heart.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?" He fails. And again the masked shadow tilts its head, before a flick of fingers steadies the keen knife in its grasp, slowly beginning to savor the agonizingly slow path towards his face, pressing the sticky edge to one cheek.

"... I want you to smile."
