Profile
Hailing from Leviathan, Lyria's family is distinctive for being descended from a curious merging of a stonemason family and a prestigious line of privateers. Even among them, Lyria stands out, as she has expressed an interest in Galiandan magitech instead of pursuing her family profession. She finds herself plagued by family issues and the scorn of many of those of higher class who feel that her 'nouveau riche' status is a slight against proper upbringings. Friendly, yet stubborn when challenged, Lyria seeks to use her skills as a Geomancer, engineer, and competent wielder of guns and blades to prove that even her poor heritage is capable of transcending class boundaries. She is an adventure-lover and incorrigible scavenger and tinkerer. The only thing better than a pile of junk to Lyria is a chest full of Gil, and she's willing to use her technological talents and twin magitech pistols to get them.

Disadvantages
Geomancer: Being a Geomancer means having a good deal of flexibility, it's true, but the Job comes with major drawbacks. If not in the right environment, some abilities can't be used -- Lyria can't cast water spells if she's got no source of water. If her enemy chooses the right battleground, Lyria might be severely hindered.
Headstrong: When it comes to matters on sailing or magitech engineering, Lyria is very headstrong about things; she's certain she's right until something explodes in her face. This may take an actual explosion if she's learning. This nature is something she'll have to overcome if she wants to become great, as while She can accept it if she's proven wrong, some disasters could be avoided if she would just listen to others first.
Temper: She can have a fairly bad temper at times. Insulting her skills as an engineer or a sailor can set her off easy. She's attempting to get better, but she's not made much headway, yet.
Family Reputation: This isn't just an issue of Lyria's mother being a privateer on the waters of Leviathan. Her whole family can be seen as 'upstart lowborns' by others at Alexander Academy, leading to issues of disrespect and poor treatment. Lyria's mother, Yoko, has a messy history, and this stands a chance of making Lyria into a target at some point, too. People digging into Yoko's background may pull Lyria into political affairs she wants no part of, as well.
Remora: As Lyria's first magitech robot with a high-end AI, it's not without some bugs. Remora can sometimes go out of control or act against her orders. It seems to have a thing about going after sea birds, most notably. It can take time to get her robot back under control, or to prevent it from acting out.
Anti-Magic: All the magictechnology of her world runs on magic. Lyria's robots, her gear, her tablet -- an anti-magic field could render these all useless, or otherwise cause havoc.
Got To Be Magical: Because just about everything she carries from her weapons to her gear requires magic in order to function, visiting a world without magic may make it difficult (if not impossible) to make full use of her equipment. Similarly, people who possess no innate magic (or similar energy source) will not be able to use Lyria's equipment even in a situation where she'd benefit.Logs
