Profile

Dame Athela Valemore, Knight Errant of the obscure Legendary Keldeo, the Sword of the Tides. Despite the elaborate title this brave lady started out as no more than a commoner growing up on the small coastal region of Bayern. But after discovering her ability to manipulate water and using it, alongside her skills with pokemon, to help the beleaguered people of her homeland, she proved to have a chivalrous yet humble spirit. This earned her the honor of being chosen by Keldeo to help usher his return to the mortal world, in a crusade against both the Hollow curse and the mislead society that once spurned him. As such she is the wielder of the Resolute Blade, an ancient sword that embodies both bold courage and the caring spirit to use it wisely. Athela continues her quest of protecting the innocent from corruption and injustice, even as the nobles of her home constantly try to quell her efforts for not being of the regal bloodlines they control their lands through.

Pokemon: As a Pokemon Trainer, Athela has a strong personal connection with her companions. While they are all trained for battle she is highly protective of them, regarding their safety well before her own. Likewise because of their devotion putting her in a compromising situation may be enough to stall them from acting effectively as they attempt to protect her and other allies first.

Headstrong: Athela is a very forward-thinking, action-first type of person. Prefers to leave the extra talking and negotiating to those more suited. While she takes time to consider her actions, once set upon a choice it is as difficult to sway her from it as it is to change the course of a river. While modest she does take considerable pride in the role she has been given and will pursue it as far and as thoroughly as she possibly can. As a result her persistence and determination to see actions through can lead to her being stalled or distracted because of her own stubbornness.

Self-Sacrificing: Athela will always worry about the well-being of others, be it her allies or innocents caught in the middle of trouble, long before she is concerned with her own safety. She is aware that putting civilians in danger can be used to complicate matters for her, but it is a core aspect of her role of a knight and even knowing that danger will not turn her away from doing so.

Regionless: While by birth a native of the Bugen region, politically Athela is regarded as one with no homeland because Keldeo does not have a region or religious order devoted to him. She has no noble family lineage to give her presence in the medieval politics of Bayern, which is why she is considered a Knight Errant. Some members of higher society are eager to use such things to discredit her worth to their advantage. There's reasons Keldeo doesn't trust the nobility that have more interest in their own gains than the betterment of their nation.

Product Of Her Time: Athela has difficulty with the technologies of the Multiverse that are much more advanced than Bayern. Radios and other common conveniences, things that can be experienced repeatedly without complexity, aren't so bad. Even then, just because she uses it doesn't mean she understands it. But things like advanced machinery, vehicles or firearms are entirely out of her league. It may also cause difficulty in fighting such advanced foes until she can start adapting her tactics to the new threats.

Of course Shinra is going to get involved - if only because Nurarihyon is a jerk who takes over people's houses, but they can't let Ouma get another piece of the Killing Stone, either. And naturally, both sides will likely want whatever help they can get from the Confederacy and the Union, respectively ...
