|Profile=Gaonoir was once no different than any other Gaomon digimon, a similarity he constantly strove to rise above. When the Demon Lord army marched over the village he had been generated in, he joined the followers of Yggdrassil for revenge and proved himself a capable fighter. Yggdrassil has been using these desires to its own designs ever since, corrupting the eager warrior with power and crafting him into his puppet enforcer. Gaonoir admires the Royal Knights, but at the same time seeks to prove himself worthy of claiming one of their seats of power for himself. Now he has been turned loose on the worlds beyond digital, tasked with hunting down problematic Exiles, eliminate the followers that fell from their lord's grace, and ensure that corruption does not seep back into paradise of the new hidden Digital World. A formidable and pragmatic combatant, Gaonoir uses his manipulation over shadows to stalk his victims and wear down their spirit before he strikes. Already a naturally proficient close-quarters combatant, the Dark Digitron gives him a considerable boost in strength and stamina at the cost of speed, allowing him to take on enemies greater in strength and still come out on top despite only being able to reach his Perfect evolution of Black MachGaogamon. The power has made him very arrogant though, and his scheming nature is not unknown to his own allies. This often leaves Gaonoir working alone and in situations that he is in over his head despite the power his god' has given him.

Though now that he has his own human partner in Erika Whitfield maybe she can help straighten him out. Before her fascination with conspiracies and other strange adventures gets them both into even more trouble.

SHADOWPLAY: Another benefit of the Dark Digitron is that it has given him an affinity for shadows and darkness. Gaonoir can hide in shadows to avoid detection, and even move from one shadow to another unseen if they are within 10 meters of proximity to launch ambush attacks on his victims. He cannot pass through solid forms but can follow shadows around them or through openings. Attack techniques that normally have a wind or light basis for his species instead generate shadows or dark energy.

HOWLBACK: Because of Yggdrasil's tampering, Gaonoir is no longer a normal digimon on the digital level. This difference can cause electronics in the physical word to react to the proximity of his bad code', causing audio systems to garble and screens to fizzle with static. Short but strong EMP-like bursts are given off whenever he evolves, disrupting or outright frying nearby electronics. Gaonoir's barks and howls can produce a disruptive signal trigger this effect as a direct attack against electronic equipment or opponents with electrical or digital components. |Skills=DIGIVOLUTION: Gaonoir is able to Digivolve from his Child form (Black Gaomon) into any of his stronger forms, including in the middle of battle. Usually they are progressed in order (Child, Adult, Perfect) but intense situations needing power faster can lead to jumping straight to a higher stage. Gaonoir can hold his Adult and Perfect forms indefinitely, but in most cases chooses to revert to his Child form to conserve energy, or to recover from heavy damage in battle. Because of the Black Digitron and Yggdrasil's influence Gaonoir's forms are stronger than usual, often able to match the stage one step higher in many regards.

* Black Gaomon: This is the Child stage that is Gaonoir's basic form. Resembles a black bipedal husky wearing a bandana and boxing gloves. Despite the somewhat cartoonish appearance he is a tenacious fighter, using a style of close-quarters combat similar to various martial arts with his stout muscular limbs and surprise tactics. * Black Gaogamon: In his Adult stage Gaonoir becomes a beast resembling a black husky but the size of a grizzly bear. Although a quadruped in this form his back legs are strong enough to stand up and attack on, allowing him to use his clawed forepaws with wicked effectiveness. Lacking some of the speed of normal Gaogamon due to increased strength and stamina, he compensates with the reach of his bladed scarf and a shadow vortex formed from his mouth. (PL 32)

DIGIVOLUTION: Gaonoir is able to Digivolve from his Child form (Black Gaomon) into any of his stronger forms, including in the middle of battle. Because of the Black Digitron Gaonoir's forms are stronger than usual, often able to match more powerful foes in many regards. Thanks to experience Gaonoir can shift to whichever stage deemed most appropriate to the situation, however he is not able to evolve to Ultimate unless Erika is present with her digivice. He can hold his Adult and Perfect forms indefinitely, but in most cases chooses to revert to his Child form form for recovery and energy conservation. * Black MachGaogamon: Gaonoir's Perfect stage is a imposing humanoid Cyborg type Digimon wearing a bionic flight suit and aviator visor. His legs are mechanical, he wears oversized cybernetic gauntlets, and has a pair of supersonic engines protruding from his backside as a jet-pack. The engines are used for bursts of speed when attacking, combining with his manipulation of shadows to make his movements disruptive and harder to follow while pounding foes into submission. Because his legs and gauntlets are mechanical he can deliver harsh physical blows against even armored targets. While not as large in size as normal MachGaogamon, Gaonoir can maintain true flight at supersonic speed for greater lengths of time, allowing him to better intercept targets and engage in aerial dogfighting. Pushing himself to grow stronger comes naturally to him. Gaonoir's fighting style bears a likeness to kickboxing in using both punching and kicking techniques, combined with bits of karate and tae kwon do. However he is pragmatic about it, focusing on the physical skills and strategy over ideas of honor or morality. He has gotten better with more group oriented objects after working with the Fleet, too.

SHADOW TRACKER: In his Child and Adult stages Gaonoir has the same heightened senses as normal canines which can be used to track his potential targets and keep a sharper awareness of the environment around him. As a Perfect and Ultimate stage these are replaced by digital sensors within his visor that function similar to radar and electronic scopes. The small and unassuming nature of his Child stage, combined with shadow manipulation, can be exceptionally stealthy to get into places others cannot.

FROM THE SHADOWS: Gaonoir uses his abilities to serve as Yggdrasil's observer of the outside worlds as well. As his unevolved form is unassuming in comparison to the presence of the Royal Knights, he can go places and collect information with less notice. He also uses his Shadowplay abilities to mess with his opponents by inducing mindgames, scare tactics and tricks of perception to whittle away at their spirit. Losing focus and courage in a fight can be devastating, leaving a victim vulnerable to his actual attacks.

|Assets=SHADOW OF YGGDRASSIL: Gaonoir still bears some aspects of being modified by Yggdrassil's experimentation. He is still one of the few Digimon that has limited access to that Digital World, abet with greater difficulty due to having to find an existing gateway to open. He also still possesses the ability to take the DigiCore of a deleted Digimon. Though he is reluctant to use either ability unless necessary after how much his views of Yggdrassil's intentions have been broken.

|Assets=CHOSEN OF YGGDRASSIL: Many benefits come from being a servant of the god-computer of the Digital World. One of the most important being that Yggdrassil can choose to retrieve and regenerate him if ever near death, a luxury not possessed by the Exiles no longer connected' to Yggdrassil's network. However such a regeneration takes tremendously long and large amounts of energy building, still putting him out of action for an extended period. Gaonoir can move freely between the Multiverse and the isolated new Digital World Yggdrassil has made. If he deletes another Digimon, Gaonoir can take the DigiCore, the base code of the Digimon's being, to give to his Master.

|Disadvantages=ARROGANCE: Strength breeds confidence, and confidence breeds arrogance. This is frighteningly true in Gaonoir. The fact that the Black Digitron infusion makes him more powerful than most Digimon of his stage farther stokes this fire. While there is little question of his power and effectiveness, it does lead Gaonoir to be overconfident in his abilities or underestimate his opponents because of it. On top of that, he is convinced that he is one of Yggdrasil's personal favorites, destined for greatness in his name, even if he is being manipulated by his master to do so. He believes as long as he keeps his master pleased with him, he has little to fear from anyone else, and that makes him cocky and at times more reckless than he needs to be.

LONE WOLF: While a loyal follower of Yggdrasil and the Royal Knights, Gaonoir prefers to work by himself. Other than Yggdrassil itself, the only ones he has to report directly to are Omegamon and Magnamon. It makes using subterfuge easier, and means there's less likely to be other people trying to steal the glory from him. It also means that he's got less assistance to call on if he does get in over his head. Some of the Royal Knights are aware that he, if given the opportunity, would usurp them for their position of power, and are wary of supporting him more than necessary to complete the goals of their overall master. Any other alliances he makes have to keep the same in mind.

D-PORT: Interfacing with the Dark Digitron converted the programming of Erika's smartphone to function like a digivice. It is linked to Gaonoir's DigiCore, allowing it to track his location, communicate directly with him and display what he is seeing. The link also allows the device to channel some of Erika's energetic spirit, which is instrumental in evolving to his ultimate form. It can analyze and store basic information about other Digimon scanned with the device, as well as store Gaonoir in a digitized format that can still interact with the operator. Because it was converted by his own Dark Digitron the D-Port is immune to Gaonoir's howlback disruptions. It still works like a smartphone, too!

ELECTRICAL DISRUPTION: The distortions that Gaonoirs presence can cause in electrical equipment isnt always beneficial. Sure it can cause security systems to fizzle as he sneaks past them and make it harder for scanners and the like to pick up his signal. At the same time, just the disruption in itself can be a sign giving away his presence, even if he cannot be visibly seen yet. When lights start to flicker for no reason and your monitor cant focus properly, its time to start watching the shadows...

|NPCs=TAMER: An avid fan of conspiracy theories and other paranormal concepts, Erika Whitfield has been tracking this Digimon phenomenon ever since they started cropping up in the real world (one such event trashing the internet cafe she worked part-time at), and trying to figure out why they are here. Intelligent, inquisitive and well-meaning but often too energetically curious for her own good; her fascination with mystery and the unknown has a tendency to get sidetracked by her theories trying to tie the oddities together. She is just so enthusiastic for anything out of the normal that she's undaunted by it also being potentially dangerous for her. Exposure to Gaonoir's Dark Digitron code converted her smartphone into a digivice, linking the two of them together (see D-PORT). Now that she has a front seat ticket to the adventure she is not letting go of it.

BULLDOZER: Gaonoir has little to no regard for 'personal space' or 'private property' when it comes to completing his mission. If it is in his way, he is going to plow through it if he can't use his shadowplay to slip around it. This becomes much more prominent in his evolved forms, which often find it easier to just smash down an obstacle than sneak around it due to size. Collateral damage is not uncommon when you get two high level monsters fighting, but Gaonoir demonstrates a very distinct level of not caring about what or who he has to run over to succeed. Pleasing Yggdrasil means more to him than not breaking someone else's valuable property.

THE SHADOW PUPPET: Yggdrasil is almost literally crafting Gaonoir in an image from the shadows of Dukemon and Alphamon, manipulating him through his desire and pride to be a loyal follower who won't be swayed by illogical emotional or moral conflicts like his predecessors. It is so far working, as Gaonoir will put his loyalty to Yggdrasil and pleasing his master above everything else. Even the Royal Knights that he otherwise admires and aspires to be like (or replace), causing contention between himself and them. Or other alliances he may make, if the needs of his master comes between them. Gaonoir is marginally aware that he is being puppeted by the god-computer, but as it also gets him what he wants he is disinclined to see it at an issue at this point in time.

DOUBT: Gaonoir has seen enough now to have an external frame of reference and actually see that not everything his previous master and allies intended was for the better. It has shaken his view of things up heavily, having doubts of what he is suppose to be or how much of his fate he can really control for himself now. A Tamer may free him from Yggdrassil's strings, but doesn't that just tie him to someone else? Even if they are a lot less ominous. Though the doubts are usually hidden beneath his arrogance and flippant snarking.

INEFFECTIVE LONE WOLF: Gaonoir is even more of a lone operative with his access to the digital gateways limited, and the Royal Knights he once aspired to keeping him out of their business. On top of that he's started to realize Yggdrassil wasn't all it claimed to be and doubt the purposes he supposedly once had. He's stuck somewhere between wanting to be alone and needing something else to dedicate to, so Erika and the alliances he's made now are all he has to believe in.

ONLY HUMAN: Erika is physically no different than any other average human, so there is always the running risk of her being harmed or worse. That her enthusiasm and curiosity constantly get her involved in trouble doesn't help, nor does Gaonoir requiring her to be present to evolve to his Ultimate form. Protecting her can get in the way of other things he's suppose to do.
