Profile

Hailing from a world that exists inside an unknown computer mainframe known only as The System, specifically the Silver City of Knowledge, Britannica. Lexicon acts as the ruler of her city, one of the Drives that make up the mainframe itself, carrying the title of Drive Core Controller. Her duties are many: Representative, leader, guardian. Quiet and thoughtful, with a sharp mind, Lexicon puts consideration into all options before selecting what she feels is the most beneficial for her people. While she speaks softly, it's often thought that she's simply tired from all the work she does for the good of Britannica. In battle, her quick wits come to the surface, though can easily be overpowered by a legendary temper attached to the shortest fuse in The System. While provoking Lexicon's rage is an easy way to get her to abandon even the most thought-out plan, her power to channel Britannica's will and transform into Silver Soul means one is drawing the ire of a digital freight train in the shape of a young woman carrying an enormous plasma axe.

Advantages

Defining

Digital Being: Lexicon is not human. She is stronger and more durable due to her status as a DCC. When struck by weapons, she does not bleed, and instead sheds off damaged data in the form of pixels, polygons, or sparks of light. She has no bones to break and no internal organs. Her durability is tied to her internal stock of system resources and she can keep going right up until they run out. Pushing herself too hard risks a cascade failure and deletion. She does grow tired as her stock of resources dwindles, and she can be affected by things like poisons or viral infections.

Hyper Divinity Driver: Also known as Digital Divinity, Lexicon can activate a super form called Silver Soul. This form amplifies all of her natural abilities to superhuman levels, with a focus on endurance and physical strength. Activating Silver Soul alters Lexicon's appearance and allows her to equip Processors. In addition to this, she gains the ability to fly. Within the System or any of its Drives, Lexicon can activate the HDD at any time and maintain the form as long as she wishes. Outside of the System, however, she requires a System Relay to provide the steady stream of System Resources needed to maintain the transformation. (PL 28->34)

Significant

Mighty Glacier: Lexicon has a Natural Affinity for Ice. She uses system resources to apply ice effects to various special attacks. In the System, a Natural Affinity has no associated elemental weakness. Lexicon can change this Affinity in Digital Divinity by mounting different Processor parts, but these "unnatural" affinities (Ice>Fire>Wind>Electric and Dark<>Light) come with the corresponding elemental weakness.

Index and Codex: Lexicon's little sisters. Twins spawned from her source code in the same fashion she was created. As twins, they share the same amount of magical power. Index is loud, outgoing, and favors warm colors. Codex is quiet, timid, and favors cool colors. Both can be quite mischievous little pranksters. (PL 22 separately, 28 together)

  • Index specializes in elemental attack spells and is equally skilled in Fire, Lightning, Wind, Dark, and Light. She shares Lexicon's Ice affinity and her Ice spells are somewhat stronger.
  • Codex shares Index's attack spell affinities but is less capable offensively as she focuses on support magic. This includes healing, removal of status effects, and spells to reinforce physical and magical defense. She is quite good at barriers.

Britannica: The Silver City of Knowledge, The System's oldest still-functional Drive. Britannica is the source of Lexicon's System Resources and thus the source of the majority of her powers as a DCC. Many of her decisions are made in the context of protecting or improving Britannica in some way, which in turn also benefits her. Lexicon regularly fights with other DCCs for control over System for this reason. In the center of Britannica is the Cathoderal which serves as a temple to Silver Soul as well as Lexicon's home.

Minor

Stylono: Lexicon's trusted Oracle, Stylono, who serves as her friend and advisor. Stylono is also well-read on the history of The System and can recite many older legends from all over the mainframe. In addition to her duties as a priestess, she sees to the education of Index and Codex and acts as their caretaker.

Digital Inventory <Consent>: Lexicon possesses a personal inventory which can store anything she could reasonably fit into a purse or backpack. This is done by converting the object into a code string and storing the code string rather than the object itself, re-manifesting it in a digitized flicker of System Resources. This can only be done to inanimate objects, such as her weapons. Items collected this way cannot be duplicated, though she's pragmatic enough to carry a spare or two if possible.

Disadvantages

Legendary Temper <Trouble>: Normally, Lexicon is an observant fighter and thoughtful ruler, able to notice things many others tend to overlook and formulate plans around suspected weaknesses. She also has an incredibly short temper and several very clear soft spots in her emotional defenses. It's relatively easy to push her into a rage and this completely changes her approach to battle from that of a tactician into a berserker. This makes her very predictable for those who can successfully provoke her, makes it easy to lure her away from comrades or objectives, and has landed Lexicon in hot water on more than one occasion. In political situations it's caused her to completely shut down attempts at diplomacy or even throw out entire delegations. Often literally.

Push the Button <Significant>: Or, how to set off Lexicon's temper. She has various insecurities and embarrassing hobbies. She is an amateur writer who is embarrassed by how her work is unpopular (being mostly trashy B-rank romance novels), she has body image issues and develops a strong dislike for those who flaunt their appearance, she hates being thought of as a child, she does not deal with criticism very well in any context, and she absolutely does not tolerate insults to her own intelligence. Lexicon also dislikes even the perception of being talked down to, which is easy to do even on accident due to her diminutive height. She also considers insults directed to Britannica as attacks directed at her, as she is quite proud of how the Drive has developed under her leadership and protection, which also means she's annoyed by jabs at her quality as a DCC. Push multiple buttons at once to score a super combo bonus.

Resource-Reliant <Significant>: Lexicon cannot activate her Hyper Divinity Driver outside of The System in normal circumstances, simply due to not having the Resources to do so. Only by dropping a System Relay does Lexicon get access to the Resources needed to transform, and the crafty foe can just as easily target the Relay instead of Lexicon to eliminate this advantage.

Source of Power <Significant>: As the Silver City of Knowledge is Lexicon's direct source of System Resources, attacking the country itself is one way to cut her off from her power. This is especially effective if one targets the infrastructure in efforts to prevent Britannica from producing its own resources, which translates directly into Lexicon having less power at her own disposal. Even if the Drive is not actually damaged, threatening it is a reliable way to get Lexicon to abandon whatever she's doing and rush to its defense. If the threat is severe enough, she will even retreat when enraged.

Gone Viral <Minor>: Most things would consider Lexicon to be human, including regular medicine, poisons, disease, and magic. As a digital being she is also innately vulnerable to Virus status. A computer virus tailored the right way can affect her, decreasing her battle power or preventing her from activating her Hyper Divinity Driver until her body can eliminate the malware. This also puts her at a disadvantage against The System's nastier viral monsters.

Silver Soul

The representative guardian of Britannica, the Silver City of Knowledge. Strong, confident, she is seen by the inhabitants of Britannica as a representative of the Drive's will. Many treat her like a resident goddess and some even refer to her as such, though she prefers her title as DCC. The Cathoderal in the center of the Drive is seen as a place of worship, dedicated to her.

It should be noted that while many of the programs that live in Britannica see Silver Soul as their patron spirit, a great deal of them don't really know much about her and, as a result, have formed their own idealized opinions of the kind of person she is. This makes it hard for some to accept the real deal as authentic when their kind-hearted, empathetic protector turns out to be a foul-mouthed hothead.

Many programs in Britannica don't even realize Lexicon is Silver Soul, treating the two as entirely different entities. This extends to external delegates, though other DCCs are aware of her identity and despite impressions, she makes no actual secret of her alter-ego, considering Silver Soul to merely be a part of herself.
